All in all Fingers may have the most very good songs on it. And the promotion was great! Big poster of halfnaked Stones in all shops.First album on Atlantic with their own label RS Records and birth of the mighty tongue.

But, - I love Bleed. And Beggars of course. And Exile. Those are the greatest. Can't decide. Changes all the time.

dylan's hiway 61 stands alone as the greatest triumph in rocknroll history...and as further evidence of that, bobby's sportin' a triumph t-shirt on the cover.

Highway 61 isn't even Bob's best album.

no, but it' still the greatest triumph in rocknroll history. nothing can ever change that.

oh no...you stand corrected. The greatest 'Triumph' in rocknroll history:

I just like to 'lay it on the line'.

Sorry I didn't read the whole thread so I apologize if someone already mentioned this. Some of Let It Bleed was at least written and first recorded during the Beggars Banquet sessions. The sound is similar too with really only one guitarist, Keith, for most of the two albums. Combine those two (even though I love Sticky and the idead of combining Sticky and LIB would have been awesome) there would have been no greater work released by anyone in 1968-1969, especially if you add the two singles of that area, JJ Flash, and Honky Tonk Women.

I love Sticky Fingers, but my preference is Let It Bleed, from beginning to end, it has a feel, a dark sense of foreboding, speaking to the times, a real testament to what was happening. I'm thankful we have both albums, but this run from 1968-1972 basically set in stone (sorry bout the pun) this band's place at the top. Nobody was better, not Led Zep, not the Beatles who were on their way out, no one.

Who would want to eat in a place called "Let it Bleed"?

i call it "applebee's with some stones collectibles" and i don't recommend eating there...

Where else can you eat a mediocre meal AND get to watch RnR Circus though. Definitely need to do it at least once if you're there. Perhaps you just didn't enjoy the company (although if memory serves, you enjoyed the waitress).

Ah, the seniorita!

i don't remember no senoritas nor waitresses...but one of the waiters was kinda hot...

I had a 20 minute drive home last night, so I pulled out LIB and SF and did a little experiment. Which tracks would I skip if I had a limited amount of time to listen to each of them?

LIB: I skipped over Honky Tonk easily and Love in Vain reluctantly, maybe in a pinch I'd part with Let it Bleed. The second side is perfect, can't skip anything.

SF: Brown Sugar, I know it's heresy to some, but I don't have any problem skipping this one, although I do love Mick's vocals and Keith's harmony. Wild Horses, Sister Morphine, both easily can go. You gotta move and dead flowers, again, if in a pinch.

LIB came out ahead, but it could be completely different on another day. Anybody else want to play along?

Love Country Tonk..Not the same old rock/pop songs...It also showed that the Stones could do
a real old style country song...You think they were from the deep South. (USA).

LIB has a little bit more to it then SF..Not as dark as SF and covers ever style of music.
Every track on LIB will move you..In fact blow you away.

I love S.F.. But could drop YGTM and S.M.

2 OF MY FAV TRACKS----G.S. and Sway...

STICKY FINGERS & LET IT BLEED, as well as Beggars Banquet, Get Yer Ya Ya's Out & Exile On Main Street show the band in their heyday and at their very best! There never was a better time for THE ROLLING STONES.

STICKY FINGERS & LET IT BLEED: On both of these records, you will only find great songwriting & performances. True classics - in any sense! So, I will not decide on one of the two records, they're both wonderful!

Not going to pick, but I will say.....in the Rolling Stone top 100 guitar players issue recently they suggested songs to give a listen to get a sence of each player. I noted songs picked for Keith and Mick T. came from Sticky fingers. Threw it in my car and played it over and over just listening to the guitar....very interesting, then my car was busted into and I lost it along with my best Pied Pumpkin CD?

I like your thinking here, but MR > B - easily.

Personally, I like DF better than YCAGWYW, but I think i'm in the minority there.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Ha ha! That's hilarious. I still listen to Brown Sugar. No matter how much of a warhorse that one is it's still one of the best ever kick ass rock'n'roll songs ever done. I can never skip Let It Bleed - the leer in Mick's voice is too good to skip over. However, I always skip YCAGWYW.
