Tough call. But I will go with Goats Head Soup as it has no clunkers for me. IORR has Fingerprint File and B&B has Hot Stuff...neither fits their respective record.

Hot Stuff is just a bad song. Can't believe THAT make B&B when we know they had so many others at that time. It did not stand up well at all against the disco or R&B of its time, and it didn't mesh with the rest of the record.

All that being said, I plan on cranking Hand of Fate and Crazy Mama on my way home tonite.

These 3 albums have a common trait: they all are works of a band that has nothing to prove. They didn't even have a fixed time schedule, the recordings could go on for ages, nothing really mattered. The result is 3 works that are a little out of their time. They come from stones world, not the real world. I think the music shows this, there is not the underlying tension of the previous works.

Yet, they are 3 mighty fine albums. Great musicianship on all of them. Love the songwriting. Love the diversity of sounds and moods, yet they also are very similar. Even if Taylor is not on B&B, B&B has all the characteristics of a Taylor era album.

Which is the best, is a matter of how I wake up in the morning.

Probably B&B is the one I listen more. But I can safely say I love them all.

That is mighty deep. very well put. (That part was written by me PR2000)

Here's a great album...

1. If You can't Rock Me
2. Hand of Fate
3. It's Only Rock n' Roll
4. Heartbreaker
5. Angie
6. Star Star
7. Crazy Mamma
8. Hot Stuff
9. Fool to Cry
10. 100 Years Ago
11. Can You Hear the Music
12. Coming Down Again

'Hand of Fate', the perennial second tune.
Interesting choices. I was getting ready to put mine together, and Im thinking "for sure I got to have 'Memory Motel', "Time Waits For No One" and "Winter", and "Fingerprint File" in there", but you can't have an album full of epics. So your choices make a lot of sense.

if that was the only album available , the outtakes bootleg would have blown my mind !!!

imagine , never heard before songs ,

hide your love
tops
save me
starfvcker
silvertrain
WINTER !
luxury
short and curlies
Till The Next Goodbye
living in the heart of love
Do You Really Want To Be My Friend
Dance little sister
Ain't Too Proud To Beg
fingerprint file
time waits for no-one
memory motel
slave
worried about you

KABOOM

Hand of fate a average track?!?! What?
One of the best rockers
Ever recorded!

I must be getting old if anyone thinks this song is average . Back in the day of dance and
Disco it saved this record for the real rock fans.

We could like Hot Stuff and long as we had HF and C.M.

I was blown away when I heard Hand of Fate.

Keith's rhytmn is billiant.

For quite a while I though he was responsible for the solo as well.. those were the days when my main source of information was my imagination.

It's a great solo anyway.

1. B&B (Hey Negrita, Hot Stuff, Memory Motel, Fool to cry, Hand of fate)
2. IORR (maybe better songs but mix is horrible)
3. GHS (music is great of course but probably lacking real stand out songs like Hot Stuff, Negrita, IYCRM, IORR, FF, TWFN) despite some of the best songs they ever made; Winter, @#$%&, Angie, Silver Train etc.

Maybe GHS is the best album but I prefer B&B or IORR. Weird.

Time Waits For No One is a great song anytime of year but for some reason really works well in the spring, as does the Emotional Rescue LP somehow.

A very underrated trilogy. Many good artists have essential albums much weaker than these.
GHS.............. musically brilliant and beautiful..........i use to hear it in a single run, every song is pefectly chained with the others. Mellancolic feeling and brilliant MT guitars
IORR..........this albums is that, only R&R and a very nice R&R
B&B............. it is dirt, sexual, great great great. Hand of fate has that KR riffing that hooked me at first listen to the RS for ever. Since that moment, they are part of my life

I mean, i love these trhee albums as well as the others
