This was only about the 15th time I've seen The Sones. It was the best concert I've ever been to in my life.

I recorded it too and I think it may have turned out pretty darn good.

Is there anyway I can upload a sample of the recording in MP3?

Pure rock'n roll, Mick Taylor is just a great guitarist and gives another dimension to the song. Thanks man.

Have a look at the videos I posted on my YouTube page from the pit. Username is dgdamore I'm too tired to embed them right now. One of the best shows IMO.

Thank you kindly! Here's jazzbass' MR from the pit:

Sorry for my ignorance but I still can't see what Mick Taylor added to MR that Ronnie didn't. From the videos I think quality wise last Saturday's Ronnie version was at least as good. Must be the excitement to see MT live.

I honestly don't know how you can say that. He plays licks and lines that Keith and Ronnie can never play. The way he bounces off the rhythm and the vocals is how the song was meant to be played and he adds another dimension. Of course it's all opinions, but come on.

I look forward to watch his playing in better quality on the PPV tomorrow. It's a bit hard to judge from shaky YouTube clips maybe. However I found that Ronnie was really really good on MR last Saturday.

I was soooo tired last night... I didn't upload several others I shot. I didn't record every song, because it can be difficult to be in the moment and enjoy the show when you're looking through the viewfinder of a camera. So I usually try not to even look at the camera while I shoot, just try to keep it pointed the right way. It's hard to dance and cheer and clap... That's why it's so shaky sometimes.

I owe thanks to this site and to BV that I was able to score a (relatively) less expensive ticket to last night's show. BV, it was great to finally meet you. (And to have a reason to wear that T-shirt that I designed!)

So here are the rest of my recordings...

HTW

BTMMR

Brown Sugar

JJF

Final Bow

okay, Green Lady... do your thing.

Katy Perry & John Mayer Get Cozy At Rolling Stones Concert

First Published: December 14, 2012 10:46 AM EST

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- After their summer romance reportedly ended in August, Katy
Perry and John Mayer appear to have gotten some “satisfaction” from each other.

The chart-topping pair was spotted at the Rolling Stones concert in Newark, N.J.,
on Thursday night.

Katy, 28, and John, 35, appeared to be happy – flashing smiles and cozying up to
each other – as they watched the iconic rocks stars’ show.

Looks like Katy has had a change of heart about the notorious ladies man, who’s
been linked to a bevy of beauties, including Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson,
Taylor Swift, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Cameron Diaz.

MR is an exciting song on stage. It always has been. But excitement and musical interest are not always the same. Taylor adds the latter. He gives me something to listen to sometimes for better or worse. His phrases, back fills, leads have a vision and I can read it. It is still an unpolished performance, but it's getting there. For me this is what the band has been lacking for a long, long time. Excitement can very often be cheap. Interesting lasts much longer. Hence "Ya-Ya's" or Brussels.

Debbie Tiger's report on Newark 1 tickets, from the Undercover mailing list,
used without permission:

At about 6:50pm, we wandered into the second floor conference room in
the Best Western where Stubhub had set up shop. They had tickets as
low as $200 and back of the floor for $500. The first few rows on the
floor were still going for $1150. If they went down in price around
7:30 - I don't know, but Stubhub takes it's tickets offline at 7:45pm.

Walking the few blocks from the Best Western to the arena, there was
no shortage of people selling comps. There were some comps in Section
D on the floor. For the most part - the tickets were in the 100
sections and the sections 1 through 5 at the back of the arena, lower
deck. Some people were trying to sell as many as four comps. I
suspect the people with extra comps in the better sections, unloaded
them earlier. By 7:45pm, people were getting desperate to sell the
extras they had paid for - they were happy to get half of face. I'm
not sure about the comps, but suspect some people might have been
talked into selling them for $50-100. We never did any negotiating -
since we didn't see anything we wanted to spend money on since we
already had tickets to get us in the door.

The box office had $813's in Sections 10 and 17 when we arrived about
7:15pm and still had them at 8pm. Even four together. They had pairs
on the floor, best was row 12 in C. If we'd been there around 6pm -
we might have been offered better floor seats. No GA's. Doug tried
off and on during the day and as far as we know, GA's were never
released. The box office also had $493's and $250's. No $150's or
$95's and it doesn't appear they had any to sell before we starting
browsing the box office inventory. By 8pm, the box office only had
singles left on the floor. That's when we stopped browsing - no idea
what was released between 8 and 9pm.

There were also some $250's sold at the back of the floor, supposedly
obstructed view because of the tv cameras. It might be worth trying
to find those for Saturday night.

There are cameras on a boom thingy in front of Section 8 and the
section across from it. Which explains the price drop for those
sections. I doubt though that the cameras obstructed anyone's view.

The back of the floor has a raised platform for at least four cameras
- higher than the usual one and longer. How much it obstructs the
view for the section right behind it in the lower deck, I don't know.
I don't think it obstructed it all that much - the seats were empty
just before the Stones came out and right after the concert started -
people moved into the empty rows behind the cameras.

Anyway, it was a buyer's market after 7pm. Lots of tickets. Lots of
people walking away from the box office without buying. They probably
bought on the street. And people were also in the box office trying
to sell tickets too and all over the little square outside of the
Lafayette entrance

the gossip articles don't even mention that John PLAYED with them during the show? lame. all they care about is the relationship crap, not the music.

Each night Mick Taylor fits better in Rambler, and seems to enjoy playing different solos. He should play in more songs, that would be awesome.

Great show last night...i submitted a full review to BV, but having now read thru the real time comments, i'm glad to see everyone thought it was a cut above, like i did. They sounded great, no uneccessary guests, but for John Mayer who fit like glove--great version of Respectable. in a night of highlights this may have been the biggest one.

How about a video of Brian Jones on sitar to open Paint it Black--that would have been a nice touch.

Can't wait for the boots of this show to come out.

The fact that this was an amazing show (and they keep getting better and tighter) bodes well that there may be MORE shows in 2013.
For those of us who couldn't make it to London and/or Brooklyn and Newark, we can only hope...and also hope that ticket prices become more reasonable.

wow, I thought exactly the same thing when I saw the pix. the band knows their studio and live peak was with him. and i don't think anyone would bother arguing that point.

"Respectable" really reminds of Bye Bye Johnny circa 1972. It's that good.

Damn straight it does!

These shows are quickly stacking up to be the best run of concerts since the 70's! I've been very, very impressed with Keith's playing. Much stronger and wider in scope with a bunch of riffs and licks he has not done in some time.

This is insane. Just amazing. I hope they feel the light and heat and realize that the world is theirs in 2013...a new album, a limited (but wider) tour with the same focus and tightness...dates in Europe...Argentina...some more dates in the States...the possibilities...! Please integrate Mick Taylor into it somehow...and Bill Wyman if possible. I did not think these skinny óld cats would have it in them to come back to this level...Keith so focused again, Ronnie sober...Charlie and Mick are superhuman anyway...but the whole band looks and sounds rejuvenated. Really exciting!

Keith Richards is playing way better than I thought he would after the long lay off. I am impressed and I hear him as stronger and strong with each show...shame there is only one left.

Love this quote about Keith's performance last night:

His longtime partner, Keith Richards, backed up his sorcery with muscle — from the outset of the show, his six-string guitar was loud and thrillingly abrasive.

Great show last night! It was so great to see Keith in such amazing form, and the set list was impressive. Around And Around in concert - that's one off my bucket list. Now I'm home I can collapse and sleep until the PPV. Wish I was there for that one too!
