what's the difference between "personally" not getting it and just plain not getting it?

Worded that way to give you the opportunity for yet another snarky post, of course!

it's a personal pet peeve. didn't mean to take it out on you personally.

Yeah.. StonesTod is like the IORR version of Grandpa in the Simpsons.

It's a pity though "Chantilly Lace" is missing. The only real difference between the US and European leg of the tour. I really liked their cover of that 50s rocker.

what a mess! the only song i need from that tour is CHANTALLY LACE which is NOT included confused smiley

I guess the completest in me would like to have every song they every recorded. I've never heard the Stones version of it, but I hate that song so much, that I don't think even the Stones could make me enjoy it. I would be interested to hear their take, but I just really can't stand any version of it, so I doubt I would like it.

Not as unbearable as I thought it would be. I've always found the vocal melody of the original annoying, there doesn't appear to be any melody at all in Mick's voice so (he's just yelling the lyrics), so that's OK. I wouldn't mind having an official release of the track, but I'm not going to shed any tears over it either.

It is amazing to see those videos , 30 years later. Wow I love that, they open the vaults.

If I'm not mistaken that version of "Chantilly Lace" is from Ullevi, Gothenburg (Göteborg), 1982.
Chantilly looks like a nice place by the way:

If that were the only difference, then nobody would have bothered buying it. By the way, Mick yelling that song is hardly worth anybody's pity. I think all the wishes for that song is just a matter of the grass being greener on the other side. If they had put out a concert with that on it, people would be wanting an '82 show with Angie. Or something else.

Fantastic show! What a treat.

Keep ´em coming, Mick! 1972, 1976, 1978, 1989, 2002/2003 (trilogy set Paris!) still missing.

To be fair: Mick shouted his way trough most of the songs on the 81/82 tour (and the 78 tour). You can say shouting was his style of singing then.
The difference between Angie and Chantilly Lace is that the latter was unique for the 82 tour - played then and only then.

This show is far away from shouting for the most part.

Last show of the tour - and in their homeland. They put an extra to every song.
Great stuff.

By that time KR's lead roles were almost absolute. RW is almost unaudible here and in Hampton's. KR was great, very great during that tour, and his unique style, albeit technical limited skills, was the signature sound of the <RS i love.
During the 1975 RW had brilliant lead roles that never have repeated during this last 35 years.
Can you imagine these two guys playing properly as they did??? It could be heaven
