It sounds good. I think Ronnie is playing more rhythm to me. Keith definitely has the open g riff over the top with the clean fender sound. They should have turned this up as it helps to knock out some of the processed sound. WAY to compressed as far the rhythm guitar goes whoever it is. Overall I like. Compression or digital recordings suck about 20% of the life out of the song. i think it is good though!

Go Dawgs!

I just heard it for the first time while watching the Lyric Video on their website.

I Love It.
The video is super cool.
In my humble opinion, it rocks and I'm happy.

Sounds like a hard rock band trying to play a Rolling Stones song.

Great to hear it. It's the Stones in 2012 so don't expect a vintage 70s sound but I like it. First listen and it sounds like a cross between You Got Me Rocking and Rough Justice. Great riff. Ronnie playing an elastic sounding solo a la Undercover.

Yeah.. I've been singing Rough Justice since I heard Doom and Gloom.

Agree. When I listened, I thought it sounded really familiar... Ah, Rough Justice II!

'One More Shot' is Keith's song, initially, so I'd expect him to be more prominent on that one.

Do you know if the vocal for OMS is Mick or Keith?

I really think Jagger doesn't mind releasing a solo song as a 'Stones' track.

Mathijs

Nicole Scherzinger doesn't mind either. Sorry....watched a BEHIND THE MUSIC featuring THe Pussycat Dolls. winking smiley

Now I'm really confused. How is Mathijs generously sharing the ITunes version if (like me) he is not a subject of the mighty I-Empire? Is there ever going to be a legal non-ITunes download?

Anyway - now that I've heard both versions I like the Itunes one - it's cleaner and shows its Undercover ancestry better. (I like Undercover).

Good point. I meant whenever a mere rock band tries to play something like Brown Sugar, the chords are there, but the groove never is.

Where's the swing? It's literally like a Stones song a computer program would put together, with all the charm that entails.

the usual suspects will get on my case for not being a "real fan", but is Charlie Watts really on this track? Is Keith? is Ronnie?

Also, the riff faintly reminds me off a certain ZZ Top song, which I do not say as a compliment.

I really like the intro by Keith Richards..grinding, dangerous, just beautiful. Anyone who thinks that Keith should hang up the guitar needs to hang it up himself. I hope to hear this song live at a live concert soon.

Anyone want to comment on Keith's playing, or is it Pick on Charlie week?

The intro is Mick. Keith comes in with the second guitar, which is a bit more sparse.

The Undercover Of The Night-esque guitar is Mick as well isn't it. Keith is hardly up in the mix, at least on the video lyric one posted on several pages.

Listening to it for the first time as I write this. I like it.At least its not another mid-tempo dirge.

After having listened to the Youtube version a few times I went on Itunes and bought both available versions. The difference is rather big.

I like the GRRR! version more than the Radio edit. Overall it has a more Stonesy sound to it for me.
Guitars are clearer and even cleaner and more upfront to my taste and the drums sound less drum machine-like.

Why did it make you of GGME? Can't hear the resemblance myself.

i thought the same! it's a typical jagger rocker just as GGME

Yeah. Combined with Driving Too Fast.

I like God Gave Me Everything. That's a pretty good Jagger solo tune. Like some other "Stones" songs ha ha.

I like it. Not every Stones song can have the signature Charlie snare sound . I think he's on it......just er............"processed"

Why is anyone surprised that it's a" Mick" sounding track ? Keith stopped bringing anything to the party as a writer about 15 years ago .

Start ok-ish but that pop sound to it is unbearable, i guess Jagger managed to turn a nice riff into some music for the gym.

Listened to it a few times. Definitely like the itunes version better. There seems to be several guitar tracks on the song beneath the main riff, some tracks featuring just a couple of notes or a riff. Also, it sounds like there's some harmonica (maybe sampled) and organ bured in the mix (the organ you can hear clearly at the end of the song). I would say Ronnie is all over this song with Mick playing some rhythm and Keith filling in the spaces with some notes or short riffs. I miss the way Charlie used to play the beat just ahead or behind Keith's guitar, it gave their music that distinctive "wobble" someone else on here mentioned.

Great, I like it! True, it is not anything we would not have heard before, but I don't complain about that. It is a nice rocker and it would sound great live. And that is what I would love them to do next. So I am satisfied.
