well how about "not obese" to start?

You dont see Charlie Watts looking sloppy. He looks as great as ever.

Exactly. And Chrissie Hynde will be 61 this year and is still a hottie (banging young boys has probably seen to that ;-)

Some rebel. Those people are a pain in the ass. They think it's okay to f-up the air of non-smokers. Every smoker should be forced to quit for two months and then have to walk into a room where everybody is smoking to know what they inflict on other people.

Watching the movie paris je t'aime on my laptop at the moment. Imagine my surprise when Ms. Faithful herself suddenly appeared in the film!

My wife had Lupus and she had to take Cortizone, steroids shots to alleviate the pain and one side effect was getting bloated,it seems to me that Marianne may be taking some of that type of shots, but who cares what she looks like? she has given a lot of good music to us thru the years as well as having been an integral part of The Stones history,so lets give her a break...

Yeah, I know. But I've dealt with too many of these 'rebels'. Imagine Mick, who did his share of fun, having to constantly deal with Keith, who was doing his share, and Bill and Charlie's share, and dead Brian's share. There are places around where I live that want to ban smokers from smoking outside. That is too far. And so is excessive taxation on cigarettes.

Marianne did mention in her first memoir how—after she hadn't seen Mick in awhile after they'd split—she'd gotten fat. And Mick phoned her up wanting to "get together" (obviously just for a brief sex reunion). And Marianne knew that once Mick saw how fat she was he wouldn't want to sleep with her. And just to be absurd she said to Mick, "Okay." And, sure enough, when they met outside a cafe (or some such) Mick's face fell upon seeing how fat she was. So they just chatted and then parted. But later she got thin again.

Yes - but her definition of 'fat' then was 10 stone/140 lb/63.5 kg.

She would weigh at least 3 stone/42 lb/19 kg more than that now.

Ouch.

Although in her case I guess people do know.

Some comments here are just so ugly and horrid. Pointing fingers at fat people, at smokers... When did Stones fans become such horrid health-and-safety fascists? Man, you do what you like with your vegetables and fresh air, look at yourselves in the mirror at 70 looking like frigging Jane Fonda and let it be, please.

How can one be a stones fan and such a judgemental jerk is beyond me...

Certain things you do because you are young and your body can handle it. But as you pass a certain age you simply have to change your life style if you want to stay healthy. And let's not even start on the invalid electric "wheelchairs" and benefits society has to pay, why do I have to pay for people who drink and eat themselves by their own choice into that state? As far as Stones fans are concerned.... well, hasn't Mick himself become a health freak since the early 1980's? So why should his fans keep behaving as the young Mick? Where does that dogma come from?

Ditto.
As for humor, this kind of 'humor' is rooted in sophomoric putdowns.
Jeez, if you people think this is obese, come to Texas baby....

My pop, God bless his soul, did not take care of himself in terms of his weight, eating habits, lifestyle, etc. As a result he spent the last 10 or so years of his life unable to walk and highly medicated, and though we love him dearly was a challenge for the family to care for. I have known other folks in the same age group who made a commitment to their health and are still active and able to get around and have a good quality of life. This is not a judgment or a fascist vision -- it's just generally how it goes.

I am all for freedom of choice -- but when you smoke in public you are taking away the choice of those who don't wish to smoke likely. And letting yourself go to hell -- well fine -- but who bears the burden of your choice?
