I'm quite happy with my Bose 901's.301's and 201's. Great sound!

I have some large floor standing B&W's I got in the late 1980's. Unvbelievable quality, on some recordings it sounds as though they are in the room with you. Really solid construction and with the right amp and cable (don't skimp on the quality of the cable) you can't go wrong.

We can all give you recommendations, but in the end your ears are the judge. Best thing is to go to a good store, and try out several sets. Make sure you bring your own (Stones!) music as testmaterial.

Yes you are right, but I think to some extent stones fans could have something in common when it comes to the sound of the band from a great hifi system.
Ill better bring main of fender and a good variety of stones records to the store..

Doxa?

Yeah - I had a pair of those Doxas once but you get an infrequent volume level. Sometimes they bang like a sh ithouse door in a hurricane but at other times you get hardly a peep out of them. Generally good for parties though.

Yamaha HS80Ms paired with the sub. You will never ever regret buying them. I used them in my studio for years and I can't even begin to tell you how much I love them. By far the best bang for the buck and the most transparent speakers I could afford. I would NOT buy a more expensive set or an alternate set. If I burn them out, I will re-buy them.

Friends call me when new albums come out so that we can have a 'listening party'.

- only 'complaint' I ve heard about the 805s is that they can be trebly, depending on where and how set up and what equipment you've matched it with. the Dali's are bassier, some people think too much so. i don't know anything though, I've had KEF's for over 20 years.
