As I said, I've been waiting anxiously for Ruby Tuesday for a long time. As for rarities, I most wish I'd heard Moonlight Mile during No Security (but I heard I Got The Blues, which was equally amazing).

Which rarity are you most proud/pleased to have heard? For me, it's She's A Rainbow - I feel so lucky to have heard that one!!!

How many different songs did Springsteen perform during his last tour? I am sure it was more than 200. I don't mean to be negative, it is just interesting. Of course, it is not a normal standard for comperable performers.

Re: Live songs statistics

But is 305 songs right, Doc? The number sounds a little low.

Only the cover songs from the 60s and till today should be over 100?

Springsteen may play 200 songs on a tour, but if 180 songs are common from 1 tour to another, the total may grow slowly...

I am Springsteen-friendly (don't dare to call myself a fan) but I doubt the amount of 200 different songs performed on a single tour...

I started an excel file during the Licks tour ;o)

About Springsteen : I saw that on the lastest tour, he really performed slightly less than 200 songs, BUT about 40% of these songs were improvised covers (incl. some Stones songs) performed one given evening.

Even if I love the Boss, his covers are not always very well done, and the improvisation seems to be his guideline in terms of covers.
Still, considering all the different 1-time covers, the total amount of songs performed in his career is higher than the Stones's figure, reaching approx. 500 songs.

It would be interesting to count the Jagger/Richards songs only and to compare to the Springsteen-only statistic

Excellent !
Identifying the tours is easy, the shows is probably impossible !
I Go Crazy means for instance that you saw the European Leg of the ABB Tour in 2007.
You also probably saw the ABB tour in 2006 in Europe, and not in 2005 in the US...

Dont forget, on his last tour he was taking fan requests from the crowd - many of the songs being one-off covers.

It was a genuine question. I'd never seen a formal 'tally' before and didnt really have an opinion.

On checking it, whilst this will need updated, but as of 2006 I made it 101 unreleased covers (add in 'I'll Go Crazy' to that) [www.rocksoff.org] and 210 of the 352 'released' songs listed here
[rocksoff.org] - so its probably a little bit more than that.

Re: Live songs statistics

My concern was the total amount of different songs performed live in front of an audience by the Stones.

Nothing to do with "recorded" songs...

Still, the ratio is interesting
