Here on the road - interviewed j lydon yesterday - we spoke about the bands he loved, hated and railed against as a sex pistol - he offered, "probably the greatest side of any album in history is the rip this joint side of exile (one) - I have yet to hear anything else that even approaches that"

I like Johnny Rotten a lot. Those interviews on the last Pistols DVD are outstanding. But I didn't think he liked The Stones at all. Guess I was wrong. Hope there is a possibility for some Pistols news?

Funny, I thought he'd like side 3 better. Good choice, though. Side one is the best side of any album.

Mr Rotten is a very amiable and honest person. And somewhere deep down he's a true punk. While Sir Michael is a mock rebel or a mock anti-establishment figure Mr Rotten isn't. At least to some degree...

There's no way John Lydon/Johnny Rotten would have admitted (or felt??) that back in 1976 or 1977. Joe Strummer is also on record as being very appreciative of the Stones, again a long time after the end of the '70s...

You beat me to it Hairball...as much as I like the Pistols and Mr Lydon, he talks shit, always has and is the ultimate hypocrit...I saw one of the Pistols last shows in Huddersfield and whilst it was high energy stuff, they seriously couldnt play...obviously that was part of the deal with punk bands so I accept that. But to stand up and spout against the establishment then go on 'I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here' and then do a margarine advert just makes a mockery of everything he stood for...add to that that he runs a Real Estate company in California - the guy is nothing but a joke these days. At least Jagger has never made out he is anything other than what he is. Meh!

Come on, he probably needed the money. It can't be easy for a punk rocker to support himself in the neoliberal twentyfirst century. At least he advertised butter not ostentatious French superfluities like Keith did.

You do know that he did that butter ad so that he could raise enough money for PiL's tour and new album, right?

A good cause then, Batcave. Not to buy another Bentley or support cossets like some others.
