Unlike the Beatles?

No, unlike Paul, Ringo, and James.

Zak Starkey not considered part of the "family" then?

Yeah, that's right! And what about Julian???

Stonescrow, you must work at reuniting the Bealtes Family and restoring Beatles Family Values.

That is the mission.

If you choose to accept it.

You must "come together" with The Watchman no doubt. It will take your combined superpowers!

Im here because there is no telling what will happen next,
and I dont want to miss it.... and when it gets too boring
someone will always "push the button" to add some drama.

with that said... I would like to dedicate this song to the next IORRer
who feels compelled to create thread telling everyone they are leaving.

So long, Stonescrow. You're a good guy. Take care. You're always welcome back, whenever you feel for it.

Thanks for the kind words, mate, but I really should be getting along here.

I agree that is is highly unlikely that we will see a tour or any good new material - too much time has passed; 5 years since the last tour, and 15 years since any decent new material, although I thought Super Heavy was very worthy. You may see new things from the vaults, and released boots and sound boards from concerts.

But I simply can't grasp this devotion to a band that broke up over 40 years ago, and half of whom have been dead for years. Paul McCartney, Wings and James McCartney are not the Beatles.

Take a break, SC. Don't annoy people with sweeping exits. And try to keep your posting level to a couple posts a day; I really recommend that.

Thanks, mate for the words of wisdom, but this is truly my last sweeping exit. The Beatles will never come back, but "The Beatles Family" is a remote possibility.

I always thought stonescrow was OK, he seemed easy going, no sense
deactivating his account, he will be back, they always come back.

Thanks, but there will be no coming back.

It looks as if there will be no leaving either.

It's almost over, tatters, almost over.

I was around in the beginning. Saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 as a teenager. They were one of my favorites back then, among others. I re-discovered them in 2003 on HBO.

stonescrow, with due respect, it sounds as though you have been a fair-weathered friend through the years. You have time and the means, to make amends.

A wise man once said, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going!' (Teddy Roosevelt or Donald Trump...I forget which?).

Anyhoo, he didn't mean 'get going FROM IORR'! Stay and fight dammit! You owe it to us, to yourself...to the Stones!

Hang in there baby, it ain't over until Bill Wyman sings...or something.

So you had no interest in the RS til you 'rediscovered' them in 2003? What a shame..you missed the Golden Era.

"Well, I came here on the 48th birthday of the Rolling Stones to bring some much needed optimism to this place. My goal was not only to pump the hardcore fans up but to inspire the Stones themselves who no doubt listen in here. I gave you: "Seven Reasons Why The Stones Will Keep Rolling" and I meant every word of it. I fought the "naysayers" for nearly two years here "tooth and nail", but in the end it was all in vain. Overall general negativity, (on the part of the fans) and apparently age with the band ended the dream. I have been a fan of the Stones since 1964. Saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show. I am no infidel".

So, you came here to save us all from ourselves and to inspire the Stones, huh?
Jeez, talk about exaggerated sense of your own importance. You "fought the naysayers"? How inspiring. Then when the Rolling Stones dare to not do what you want, and the rest of us don't accept you as our Leader, you take six pages to say goodbye. Lighten up buddy, and quit being such a drama queen. It's only rock 'n' roll.

If stonescrow is serious why?? The STones are almost all 70 leave them be and enjoy what they have done no need to ditch something because they dont't want to do it thmesleves or are incapable of doing or maybe they are gearing up for 2013. Nothing wrong with going over and following the Beatles but you CAN DO BOTH!!!!

Stonescrow

This may have been said already but I haven’t read every entry on this thread. You’re making the mistake a lot of hardcore fans do by believing that your (second) favourite band read the postings on these sites. You are setting yourself up to fail by giving yourself the unachievably massive task of “motivating the Stones”. There’s nothing you or I can do in that respect. Best to just enjoy the music and not worry about all the other stuff. As one of those self-help types once wrote: “don’t worry about things over which you have no control”.

stonescrow, get over yourself. Seriously. You're not some revolutionary like Fidel Castro. You're just some dork on the internet. You seem to have an inflated sense of self-worth. If you're going to leave this place, then just leave. Quit being a drama queen and milking it for all it's worth, which isn't much to begin with. Bye.

Funny you should mention Fidel Castro - on Friday night, a comedian here in the States, Bill Maher, called Fidel Castro "the Keith Richards of politics." (Due to his longevity). Cheers...smoking smiley
