This was their intro to the harder rock world of the late 60s. Satisfaction, only 3-years old, seemed like light years ago by then. And the Stones hadn't had a real chart burner in some time.

They tried it once. In 1997, or was it 1994? Can't remember.

Is there a youtube of this anywhere?
No reason for professional musicians like the Stones not to pull it off. Waddy does it every time he plays the song and it always sounds great!

In all honesty, The intro really doesn't bother me that much, I just figure if Waddy can do it every time he plays the song (even without a second guitar), why can't the Stones?

Lots of mistakes in that Philips chapter, especially about Have you seen... and Nashville-tuning

To get it right, Ronnie has to play the "pre-intro", or Keith has to change tuning.
But they should start with singing the chorus right, imo. Mick has only done that once (the first chorus on R&R Circus)

Pre-intro is the time before the song starts ie silence. I'm pretty sure Ronnie plays silence just fine before the intro.

Hey Bluz...it kinda looks like you're grabbing Charlie's *ss in that photo.
Tell me that didn't happen.
