Angel in my heart

My wife Carol passed away this week after a long battle with an illness called MSA. We have been together for 24years so you can probably imagine it has been a very hard week.

Before she died we had a conversation about the funeral and she wanted the theme of Angels, Carol was not really a Stones fan but has been to 3 concerts on 3 different tours and has always found them very exciting, the last one being in 2006 in London, she was in a wheelchair at this point, i was hoping maybe we could have got to one more of their concerts.

I have been racking my brains all week to think of something with Angels and then it came to me, 'Angel in my heart' . It is such a lovely song and will be played during her funeral on Monday.

Sad story... I can't help but suggest "Oh Carol" to be played...
And John Mellencamp's "A ride back home" which I'd love to be played at my funeral.

R.I.P. Carol

Stay strong. Rest In Peace, Carol.

Angels beating all their wings in time,
With smiles on their faces and a gleam right in their eyes.
Whoa, thought I heard one sigh for you,
Come on up, come on up, now, come on up now.

May the good Lord shine a light on you,
Make every song you sing your favorite tune.
May the good Lord shine a light on you,
Warm like the evening sun.

I extend my condolence to you.

I saw TV documentary this week about a Japnese lady who died of ALS in January.
When she wanted to come home from the hospital before she died, the song "Feels Like Home" was played over this shot.
It was not Linda Ronstadt-Randy Newman's one, but was really heartwarming scene.

'Oh Carol' is one that sprung to mind first but it would not have been a song that Carol would have picked but thank you for the suggestion.

Idealy i want to stand up and speak but I know that if I did no words would come out only grief so that is not an option.

If you belief that when you go you will go and sit with God, I would like to believe that, if she did then I would like to think she was my guardian Angel looking down on me and all her family.

Altertativly when you go that is it there is nothing else, then all that is left is for those left behind to get comfort in how her send off is done. Whichever way it is I need to get it right so I am taking no chances, she is getting the best send off I can give her.
