I understand what you're saying, but they didn't make the playoffs for the second straight year in a row. Like the Yankees, the Red Sox have a high payroll and I'm sure the Red Sox organization felt as though they should have made the playoffs, and on top of that blowing a 9-game lead in the wild card race - that would get anyone fired.

I am disapointed the Red Sox lost but what a night of baseball!! It could not have been scripted better for Tampa I tip my hat to them. The Red Sox have nobody to blame but the Red Sox.

Man, how cool, but heart breaking... in Texas, Cooper Stone, the boy who's fire fighter Dad died falling out of the stands at Texas stadium on July 7th this year, was with Nolan Ryan, and the boy Cooper threw out the first pitch. Nothing can make up for a boy losing his father, but that is a very very nice gesture from the Rangers.

So, in the 32nd ranked city that never sleeps...
The Yankees finally win the game against Detroit,
final score of 9-3 ... after a bit of drama in the
9th inning where Detroit loaded the bases, a couple of
times, and scored a couple of runs... which brought out
the great reliever Mariano Rivera to earn the final out
of the game... as Detroit left the bases loaded... they play again tomorrow

LOL MKC, as a New Yorker who has traveled extensively, the other thing I don't get is the NY pizza is the best......noooooooooooo, ya got to go into those slice places on 6th ave or Broadway and see a lonely piece in the glass box, been sitting there for days the cheese has morphed into something alien, and they're gonna sell it to ya.

If you want real pizza, come on upstate to Buffalo. While your at it, order up a bucket of 50 chicken wings to go with it.
