what a let down. heard all of these songs live before. IMO this was their worst tour. the sound sucked and the set list was not all that great( i was in anaheim for the shoe tossing incident)

these guys are starting to disappoint me. these guys have a ton of other material to put out. we get this crap. this Cd will flop like a whale out of water.

Yeah its not the obvious choice for an official release but what is? There is such a limited selection of unreleased tour films that could be brought out, I don't what else they could do?

This is simply fantastic. Best Stones news in years! REALLY looking forward to it. Who would have believed; a concert film from one of their very very best tours! The best shows on this tour and 1972 are unbeatable in the energy department! Whats next? LA 75? A full 1969 concert? The greatest of Stones news, this is!

The Stones at their very best!

If this is the Stones at their very best what happened to the theory that the best years were with Mick Taylor?

What are you trying to say? That all people should have the same opinion?

So they shouldnt release this show on DVD/blu ray because YOU happen to own an audio recording of it? Or maybe even an inferior video copy of about a third of it? And because the sound you heard in the stadium show you were at happened to be crap?

Thats inspired logic.

They actually DONT have a 'ton' of video footage to put out, either.

That´s just a weird theory winking smiley

Seriously, imo, they were peaking at both the 1972 and the 1978 tours.

Why do you think so many stones fans cherish the Handsome Girls-recordings so much?

well, I hope I am wrong, but USA amazon mentions both the dvd, and blu-ray..but no mention of a cd? what gives.
I wonder if they are getting the dvd confused with the 2 disc some girls album, and the dvd will not actually contain a cd. WTF?

the cd in this package has the ausio of the concert
the deluxe dvd is like the one in the exile deluxe. just with excerpts.

I was fortunate enough to catch this film at my local cinema last night (I live in South Africa) and I wrote up a lengthy review for it at my blog.

Please click here, if you want to check out what I thought of it.

....and for the first time; we'll get to hear the 5 minutes of "Miss You" that has always been missing from the Fort Worth SBD recording

I think Scottkeef on this board attended this Fort Worth show, btw - maybe he'll spot himself in the footage

FAROUT- I'm on the front row of the balcony center--I do remember on the last song they turned the floodlights on over the stage and lit up the whole joint. I dont think I was jumping around tho- I believe I was still standing there with my eyes big as saucers and my mouth hanging open!!

Hey Scottkeef, I was there on the front row of the balcony too! If memory serves me correctly, my friends and I were some of the first ones up jumping around almost the whole show wondering what was wrong with most of the rest of the balcony that took a while for them to get up off their collective asses.

I just came back from a screening and posted some comments about it in another thread. In it I mentioned that this show was one of the stealth shows where they used a pseudonym rather than their own name. I said they were billed as "The Lonesome Green Shoed Cowboys" but I just read an article in the Dallas Observer that says it was "London" not "Lonesome" so I might have been wrong. My ticket stub is cut off so I can't confirm which it might have been. Do you or anyone else here know for sure what the correct name was they used?

There's a DVD/CD combo pack.

On a related note, nowadays Mick Jagger would get fired for sexual harassment for his antics with Ron Wood in Live in Texas! The boss groping and grabbing the crotch of the new employee while the new fellow's just trying to do his job? Scandalous! eye popping smiley winking smiley

Yeah Amazon has a DVD/CD combo for 22 dollars, So don't think it would be the double Some Girls CD...so is this a live CD of the show? WOULD BE AWESOME!

You hadnt heard all of them live before 1978.

What songs do you expect from a 1978 concert movie?
