And myself? No, I'm no teenager, being just 19 months away from 50. But that doesn't stop me from trying to keep in Jaggeresque shape (I cycled over 50 miles [from Rye in Sussex to Margate in Kent] yesterday, & I ran 9 miles the day before).

I'd certainly whip Mr Taylor into shape if ever he fancied hiring me as a personal trainer for 3 months! hot smiley

Ha, ha, nice offer, Sleepy! But whipping doesn't seem the proper method to me. A gentle way would be more effective, starting with a appropriate diet.

As for your heavy exercise: be careful, many guys of your age died because of too much training, not knowing their hearts and veins weren't healthy. I'm 56 but still looking like a Greek god. Just eating and drinking in the right way, walking and cycling just in an easy way and, also very important, exercising ALL muscles etc. by a ballet method. It's not heavy but very effective and healthy and without any risks. It keeps you better looking than Jagger, who looks too skinny to me and even stiff, and you keep your condition okay.

Lol don't worry, my hearts & veins are fine (had everything checked over recently), & anyway I've always exercised alot (though the running is a recent thing), never smoked, rarely drank or ate fatty food etc. But you're right, a healthy diet is even more important. thumbs up

Judging on the boots, Taylor does overplay a bit. Good example is Time is on My Side. The stones intend this song to start slowly and softly with only Keith's guitar and a bass drum, and then develop into a full band setting. But Taylor throws in a loud, blistering and full solo over that gentle intro. Taylor fans might like this, but it surely is not what the band intended, and I can understand why you would want him to shut the f up.

Howdy

hmm, the boot I've got has the gig as.....

Under My Thumb
When the Whip Comes Down
Let's Spend the Night Together
Shattered
Neighbors
Black Limousine
Just My Imagination
Twenty Flight Rock
Going To A Go-go
Let me Go
Time Is ON My Side
Beast of Burden
Waiting On A friend
Let It Bleed
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Intro's
Little T & A
Tumbling Dice
She's So Cold
Hang Fire
Miss You
Honky Tonk Women
Brown Sugar
Start Me Up
Jumpin Jack Flash
Satisfaction

These are the songs Mick Taylor played on.

You can see from that he didnt play on 'Time is on my Side', that seems to be one Mr Ronny Wood.

Now my album MIGHT be wrong so apologies if so - granted Let It Bleed has a GREAT solo on it (sounds vagely like M.T? but from tone etc probly is R.W?), but if it aint, it Kinda turns the argument back on him being the one who overplayed rather than Mick Taylor.

Like Jagger intro'in YCAGWYW as 'guitar onslaught' tho - jesus R.Wood goes w@nk tastic and not in a good way... messy, no finesse in the playing, its snatched rough and tough playing, not that i mind it but here it kills it, sounds infectious too as mr sax goes off on one with r.wood which aint fun on my ears booooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I'm listening to the 'KC I' boot

what do you all reckon?

Thanks for posting.

Nice Taylor intro "Time is on my side", absolutely not overplayed. He made the song a bit acceptable and he has a warm tone, as this sterile sounding version (and Keith's or Ron's solo?) imo is an insult to the original.
Why the f*ck did he leave?

But Mick taylor only played on the songs in Red? he doesnt play on the songs in black (such as 'Time Is On My Side') apparently, although i'm like you i thought that sounds just like taylor's style of playing

anyone else know what tunes he actually is supposed to be on?

i recommend YCAGWYW for Ronny Wood smearing himself aaaallll over this to back up my 'R.WOOD being the overplayer NOT M.Taylor' argument love anyones thought on this if you've got this gig on boot tbh

You can tell from the Guitar tones/styles who is who if you dig the whole gig.

Peace

Captain's list is wrong... Know Taylor played on Black Limo.. one of the only songs you can barely hear him..

The first intro solo was Keith? Hats off for him. I presumed it was Taylor, as Mathijs stated too. I also tended to hear some nice Taylor fills.

Funny I sometimes don't hear the difference between Keith and Taylor. It happened before.
For the rest I stick to my previous post.

I wouldn't call the intro a solo... No, I meant the guitar solo in the middle is Keith. My guess is Taylor for the intro too.

In any case, i think it was very interesting to have Mick T. guesting with the Stones.
It is a pity they dind´t ever had Mick back for a guest appearence in another era. (Voodoo Lounge, etc)
Please, don´t miss the opportunity to do it if you happen to go on the road again....last chance probably

erm... so what songs did he play on?
Is the setlist in the right order?

He's on Black Limo because Jagger thanks him. Wood and Taylor trade solos during the song.
Attendees have posted on this board that he came on earlier.
Some thought he left after YCAGWYW (LIB came after YCAGWYW), but his slide is audible during HTW and the picture of Taylor during the Satisfaction balloon drop shows he was there at least at the end.
Has anyone ever posted the audience recording of this show?

No, Taylor did not play on December 15th, did he? He is certainly not audible on the excellent bootleg that I have from the show.

No Taylor on Dec 15th, that true. Maybe Marko is thinking about the "old 2CD bootlegs" which featured a mixture of audience recordings from Dec 14th and Dec 15th.

Thanks for asking, Powderman, yes it was absolutely terrific - I'd really like to see him again this sumer, but I don't know where

The first part - and the last part - of the concert was really smoking. Only the acoustic numbers in the middle of the show was somewhat of a let-down; I guess it has something to do with the venue....hard to get such an intimate feeling outdoors. That the only "half negative" thing I can say. Highlight for me was "Old Love"....incredible what playing he's still capable of

Very cool that both Clapton and the band doesn't "dress up" like most bands, they were wearing like most of us wear at the cabin....also cool that Clapton's not saying silly things like "are you feelin good"..."we love you" etc etc
It's ONLY about the music; which is the way I like it.

God I hate the sound of Ernie Watts on this song - it makes me want to scream every time that annoying sax comes in. Damn, I've got Keith, Ron, and Mick Taylor and the most distinguishable sound is that damn sax.

I have one 81 recording where Jagger introduces Taylor and then says something like "We're gonna do one called "Let Me Go - Let Me F****** Go!".

Anyone have a clue?

Yeah, that´s Kansas Dec. 14th. But at that time Taylor had been on stage for a while. I think from Black Limo and onwards.

MT sounded good on Beast of Burden, much better than MJ! Man his voice is crap on it. Barking, coughing out the lyrics, hoarse, with no tune, All I dislike about the 81 US tour.
