Revisiting Superheavy - Mick in TOP FORM
Posted by: Bliss ()

This is so great. His vocals are fantastic. Mick and Joss Stone are incredible together. How I wish Mick would do more projects like this or write some new material for the Stones.

(Hope he reads this.)

grinning smiley Superheavy part XXXVIII? Why not?

I wouldn't say Mick was in top form, not at all. But I really like his performance on Miracle Worker. That one is great thumbs up

The other good songs on the album are the Marley and AR Rahman-songs, imo.

What I liked the most about this project was that Mick kicked off some rust, and got back in shape, for recording and shows with the Stones later on.

Superheavy is a fantastic CD. I'm not the only one to be jaded by idiot people here who hold the TRUTH ... I love iorr but not those idiots.

Come on! People aren't "idiots" just because they have a different opinion.

What's a discussion without different opinions anyway? smiling smiley

Loved Miracle Worker - the song and the video - but the rest of the album just felt like a put together studio band.

Ok Riffhard, we get it. You dislike the album. But you haven't supplied any reasons why it should be considered a poor effort, apart from your personal predilections.

I respect all opinions without saying 'idiot' to anyone or asking to motivate their point of views.

You do however insult people with differing tastes.

And you are doing more than stating a point of view. You are making a judgement 'it's crap', but without stating some basis for that opinion. And until you do, it's just a matter of personal taste, chocolate vs vanilla.

I thought it sounded more like something from Dirty Work......then I thought, well, maybe a bit more like a harder edged Ruthless people type song....looked on google and Ruthless people was the same year as DW...

Not all the songs on Superheavy grab me wholesale but enough of them are decent enough to give it a spin now and again.....a good hot summer evening album when everything's sleepy and calm..............and the vibes in the neighbourhood are cool.......

Especially this........[www.youtube.com]

The 'again'.

I mean, that 50 plus page thread finally died and now this starts.

I gave SH a shot. It didn't work. It's pedestrian. There's nothing special or good about it, it's just bored musicians doing something together. More work went into the videos than the album.

Why did I start it again? Because I am bored with listening to concert material from any decade that features the same stuff.

I really think Mick sounds great in this, the songs are original and he seems energised by the project. Also as I said before, he and Joss Stone are terrific together.

Just my opinion, of course.
