Sad, but not surprising. However we don't know how she died yet, but given her age and her track record I think most of us are probably thinking the same thing. Though maybe it's not what happened.

this is really sad to hear. Hope she is in a better place now.

Tragic. So many souls taken due to drugs.

I just saw a clip of her at some Grammy's interview yesterday walking up to Clive Davis and hugging him in the middle of an interview then you hear her telling one of her children to go and hug your Godfather.

Very sad to hear. Many struggles in her life. A wasted beautiful woman and voice. Bobby Brown really caused her pain in her life.

I still can see her singing the US National Anthem at Super Bowl XXV in Florida between Buffalo and NY Giants.

One of the very best performances of a difficult song to pull off.

I saw Whitney Houston in 1988 live in concert. This concert was for me not so special, because she had a round-stage and I hate this kind of stage.

She was at the Beverly Hilton Hotel when emergency paramedics were called there. She was a guest there at the time and the paramedics tried to revive her and could not in her room on the 4th floor. She was declared dead at 3:55 pm in Los Angeles. Just in from the press conference. No cause listed yet.

Whitney was in LA to attend Clive Davis's annual night before the Grammys party.
She looked great, was straight but of, course, those trusty old enablers always turn up when any of the big talent arrives in town.

She dearly loved her daughter Bobbi. It's a big loss for Bobbi and Whitney's mother, also a wonderful singer.
