Such a pure voice. She was the only real vocal artist of the 80s, 90s.
I kept rooting for her to make a comeback....
Very sad.
I just knew (thought) she would have a huge comeback after
being out of the spot light ....... this is heart breaking.... so sad.
She did... she was.... Great StoryQuote

I remember one year, Whitney preformed at the American Music Awards or the Grammys or something like that. It had been years since she had appeared. There is picture backstage of Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion and Courtney Love all gathered around one tiny monitor, watching Whitney's performance - and you could just see the affection in their expressions...like they were really rooting for her to do well. She had the talent.

i was okay with all her work. but only two songs of hers meant a lot to me, at
a certain point, and that's why i posted them earlier in this thread.
so i know its only pop music
and that she was only a pop star
and one that had lost her way...
but i just want to say, in light of recent discussions on this board about
"pop" music versus "real" music, that while i share some of the expressed
reservations about the value of "pop" music and much of the expressed appreciation
of "real" music, there is still something very powerful about a kind of music
and a kind of artist that, when we lose them, even years after their peak, it
reverberates around the globe, as shown on the twitter trend map below.
Music is the only thing this planet truly shares. unfortunately...

you dont think it was a drug overdose do you?
I heard that she was at the Beverly Hilton at the Pre-Grammy's party and that it was Ray-J who found her. Their is a picture I saw of her on Facebook, being led away looking real bad.Quote

A rumor on one station says she was found unconscious in the bathtub.
Meanwhile next to the Hotel the music is blasting away at the pre-grammy party. Seems like it should have been toned down a little, considering she was supposed to be the guest of honor.
