I can't judge the substance in this "news".
But I can't believe it when I'm reading all those negative posts about a final tour!!!

My guess is they won't announce it is a farewell tour, but the "writing on the wall" element works well for them(again). I also think they will do a mostly arenas tour with a few stadiums. The arenas can be almost as profitable as stadiums with less costs and high tix prices, and a smaller stage means Mick doesn't have to run as much.

I hope for a stadium tour. The Rolling Stones is the ultimate stadium act. They invented this kind of entertainment. Rock And Roll in stadium. And still they are the best in those large football stadiums.

I don't know if this is going to happen " Final Tour", but like you I believe The Stones are THE Stadium Band. Yes they did create that thing. My best souvenirs were The Stones facing huge crowd in the warm of summer whatever the period of their creativity. Wouldn't it be insane to prevent tens of thousands of people to listen to them for the privilege of a few thousands.

exactly, i think if the stones were gonna roll ,ronnie would be there in a jumping jack flash moment .the faces tour is not gonna break any box office records with or without rod .with rod they would sell better and play arenas as has been duly noted here but rod will not be joing the faces .

I very much doubt this is accurate...I know someone who has worked on the last three tours and she has heard nothing. I could be wrong and with all due respect to Homerus he may have been misled. I hope he is wrong cos I don't want another extravaganza tour...just a decent set list with as much guitar music as possible and as little from the backing band as they can get away with...and no songs from ABB or Satisfaction as an encore and I'll be happy!!

Unfortunatly, at the two UK shows, Satisfaction was dragged out kicking and screaming to once again ruin the show...can't understand why anyone would like this song - but each to his own.

This sounds really fishy. I've been doing google searches and it just leads me right back here. If nothing else, it certainly stirred the pot well.

I don't see the Stones marketing anything as a Farewell Tour. As for the rest of the original post - that is all stuff that has been speculated in more than one post before. I'll believe it when I see it from the boys themselves.

I will believe it when I hear Mick himself announce it with Keith.. Nothing from them well nothing happening at the moment.

The Rolling Stones final Tour?..I dont think Mick could bring himself around to making an official announement saying thats its their last Tour..which is understandable..I think The Rolling Stones would just go their own ways.

I won't get excited about any kind of tour until the press conference is broadcast by the Stones.

It dropped 12% in the morning. At about 12:30,
AP got wind of it and the stock price continued to spiral
and the stock lost about 25%. One of the company heads
berated all of the investors for what they were doing.
The stocked dropped for 2 days. It has not recovered
much of the loss since that time."

As far as corporations go, the Stones rock extremely hard.

They also rock really, really hard for a bunch of 60-70 year old men, at least half of whom have led lives of complete excess.

So sorry what they have to offer these days isn't up to snuff for some of you. I'm not sure why you feel entitled to more than what the Rolling Stones have given over the past 50 years, but to each their own.

If they tour, I'll be there with tens of thousands of others, having a great time, watching my favorite band.
