You're one of my favorite posters 71Tele and I understand your point of view. Post when you feel you can...

Thanks again. I feel a little embarrassed by going public on this, but it's the only way I could think of to offer up some clarity. Problem with false anonymous accusations is that some people believe them if they are not challenged. Sorry if I came off as overly dramatic.

I love posting here, and I love reading others' thoughtful, insightful posts (some of you especially, write really, really well).

sorry to hear this - your musings are always insightful and worth reading.
However in this instance, it would probably have been wiser to have contacted BV via private email, rather than airing dirty laundry on the message boards.
I hope you have second thoughts and continue to post.

Adrian, I thought of that, but the problem was that beely made his accusation about me publicly, so I thought it called for a public rebuttal. Not really "dirty laundry" - I had no issues with beelyboy.

Wait! Wait! I feel myself shifting back to my 69boogie personality. Aaaaggggghhh...

I wish I could look into BV's head.
He's got all our IP-s

Hmmm yes, speaking of BV. Well I've always had my suspicions about him, my own theory is that he IS actually Mick Taylor. OK Taylor (or BV as you like to be known) ... time to confess. Your number's up matey boy, you've been rumbled.

I don't think that, cause he recently removed a picture of himself then.smiling smiley

as I've stated a few times....not sure why beely thought you and the other guy were one in the same...
....but his warnings about "the other guy" may not be based in paranoia. i'm sure beely has
a story to tell. however, if beely feels so strongly about "the other guy".....maybe he should've
contacted bv or at least changed his email address to prevent further harassment.

When I started the ONE POSTER MANY NAMES thread I did not have anyone specific in mind. And I certainly never intended to cause any bad feelings.

i would like to state for the record that i am, contrary to reports, NOT the secret informer known as "deep throat". records show that this individual was actually W. Mark Felt. i feel sad but this was absolutely necessary. despite the flattering comments that would suggest that i am actually important enough of a figure to be this person, i categorically deny being the secret source. again, that person was W. Mark Felt, not me. thank you.

there we go. ha.

o the soap opera. even jumped it's appropriate thread. o the drama.

Thanks, all of you. Really. And sorry about Knocking on Wood too much. Probably true.

What makes all of this so weird is that it came out of nowhere. I can't fathom the reason or the motivation. And now that he's been called out and asked for proof, rather than apologizing and just moving on, he is digging in deeper.

I just don't have the time nor inclination. Others have left. people I really enjoyed reading. Now I understand why.

71Tele..ya' always been alright by me..mate.I think theres another reason some members might have left is because they're become all Stoned out..to much of a good thing for to long..ya' know what I mean. They're probably be back at some stage..cheers mate smoking smiley colonial NZ

I must be missing something, tell me Beelboy, what is your issue with Tele...he has said he hasn't got any aliases...take the guy on his word. Also, does it matter if he had?

Beely...read my earlier post...I believe that you've been harassed by "the other guy"...but
I'm convinced you are wrong about 71Tele....what is your proof?

i think it had more to do with WHO Beely said were Tele's other aliases.
Most of us would not like to be mistaken for "the other guy".

Ahhhhhh...I see, well in that case I guess it's slightly more subversive, but still, what kind of person could be bothered to set up an alias on a Stones forum? I mean, there isn't much that can be gained from doing it really -slight annoyance from the person whose alias has been jacked. BV could stop this so easily if he wanted. Things are shifting towards 'Fingerprint File' lol!

i guess...people that just want to mess with other people and aren't willing to stand behind their
original username. i think there are some that use a different name (on IORR) at home & at the office
but I'm not sure why.

Perhaps BV could confirm the IP address as someone mentioned above. Of course, he would probably want you to ok this 71Tele. Would that be ok with you?

Of course, as the administrator, BV can easily know the IP's of each member, some website even allow you to localize a poster. But it's not so simple, depending on your internet provider, and your options. Some people always have the same IP, some change at each connection, some providers use (or used) to affect the same IP to all their customers. And more than anything else, it's very simple to hide your IP without being a specialist.
As a board administrator myself, believe me, if you want to detect aliases, or a banned troll who try to come back, psychology is more usefull than technology.

Come On Tele. Forget the crap. Just be yourself. Keep On Posting and don't let this bullshit get to you.
I have been accused of using a false identity on this board by someone whom I can't even remember now, because he is banned now.
You and I hardly ever agree on this board. But you are you and and I am I. And we always have respected eachother. So for Keith's or Mick T's sake, let's keep it this way.
