Great! Only $10.49 for the DVD here. [www.amazon.com]

But where is the Blu-Ray version? That is what I am interested in.

Do people think Blu-Ray is much better than DVD? Or is it mainly hype?

Cinema release in the US is September 16th.

Listed as 2 hours in length, which would mean about 30-35 minutes of extra footage, if thats correct.

That is interesting. I wonder why it wont be included on the dvd release( at least according to the amazon given length time) Or do you think it will?

The release date in no big news, it is know for over a month now.
The double release of DVD and Bluray is confirmed by Eagle Rock and the date for both is still supposed to be the same.

I hope that the movie will also be released in cinemas in Europe

Bluray release listed at amazon.uk for October 11th,
with a running time of 110 minutes, which corresponds nearly to Gazza´s
post concerning the movie.

Richards' autobiography was to be Oct. 9th too. That'll be a nice combo.

I've checked a few websites and, while the runtime is listed at 110 minutes, the songs listed are the usual 15, i.e., no Rocks Off. This might simply be a lack of attention to detail, though. We'll find out soon enough, no doubt.

I have some reservation as for the quality of this official release of L&G. I foresee some pithy comments here.

If there is no extra footage or special features I will be disappointed, and it will be a wasted opportunity.

to the super duper hardcore stones fans, you will never ever be satisfied with this release because you know that there's so much more they could have done.
to the casual and hardcore but not super duper like some of you, this dvd will satisfy you.

Im excited as hell for this to come out and will be happy no matter what. But I do agree if there is no bonus or extra footage it will be a wasted chance.

we don't know what they are gonna do yet

I'll be very satisfied just with the improved concert film quality and greatly improved sound over the boots we got, now, no matter what 'extras' are on it

I wonder if the DVD press will have an audio CD on the reverse side as some artists, Aerosmith comes to mind, have done. Love the DVD/Blue Ray. Unfortunately, it appears no additional CD (other than maybe the film soundtrack) will be released.

As others have said, this is a golden opportunity to release a live CD from the '72 tour or even the '73 tour of Australia and Europe. Maybe another time down the road.

I'm a true stone fan, will not be getting blu ray as I do not have (or can afford right now) a blue ray dvd player.

The BR version will not necessarily look much different to the standard DVD version. Some people have a misunderstanding that all BR films should look like a Pixar animation but that's not the case. Here, where the film stock is decades old, I'll expect to see plenty of grain in the visuals.

BTW, here's the Extras, as listed on LoveFilm:

Bonus Features:
Tour rehearsal footage from Montreux
1972 Old Grey Whistle Test Interview with Mick Jagger
2010 interview with Mick Jagger

People expecting an ultra-slick picture may be a little underwhelmed! However I think it will still be a significant improvement on my 4 Reel version, if I compare Eagle Rock's trailer to the bootleg version.

I was not really impressed with the sound quality of the bootleg version. Won't this new version have all the bells and whistles in terms of sound technology from the original release? I mean fantastic quality sound Dolby 5.1, etc.?

I only care about the sound quality . . that would be the only reason to get it.
