Jagger and Robert Plant
Posted by: punkfloyd ()

Posted this in the Rolling Stones picture thread...but I think it's gotten lost and I think it's worthy of discussion. This appears to be backstage in 1981 or 1982. I never thought of Jagger and Plant as being buds. He seems to publicly distance himself from most rock "legends" (excluding Pete Townshend/Jeff Beck/Clapton for recording). In fact since 1980, I've only seen him with his peers on stage at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies. Guess he prefers Bono, Lenny Kravitz and Dave Stewart.

Mick must be standing on a box, surely Plant isn't that much shorter than him!

I have met Plant and he is tall. Jagger is not nearly as tall from what I know and according to people who have met him. Not a judgment, just a fact.

That is a nice pink tank-top on Mick though.

I knew Keith has a deep dislike for Led Zeppelin...Jagger will hang with anyone who is deemed famous, it's just the way he is!

Looks like Plant caught Mick in the middle of a pole dance.

googled it...consensus - Plant is approx. 6 ft tall (give or take an inch).

Mick is a few inches shorter ( 5' 8" - 5' 9"). He wasn't wearing the hi-heeled Nikes in 81-82
so..he must have been on a step..a platform......or on his tippy toes.

IORR............but I like it!

They lick his boots and not the others.

That is what I meant...Keith, Pagey, Townsend, Beck, Clapton, Wood all good mates and from the same same background

mick may be using that tip toe trick he likes so much, that trick can add up to two inches, mick has been caught doing that a number of times

<keith dislike's led zep music.but is very good friends with jimmy page and thinks he is a great guitar player.>

He has said that he likes Zeppelin´s music, but that he can´t stand their singer, and that the drumming is a bit too much for him.

The Barbara Charone book on Keith (one of the if not the best) clearly states he does not like Led Zeppelin!

Not wishing to be an expert commentator on hair dressing but Plant had his hair cut for the 1980 Euro Tour, not Knebworth 79
