Biggest dissapointments (Stones related)

my first one was in 69, I was 16 and my dad wouldn't let me go to hyde park to see the Stones.

second was turning up at Wembly in the early 90's to see the Stones and finding the concert cancelled due to Keith cutting his finger THEN I went to a second concert to see my next favorite band (Rory Galagher and his band) at the Cambridge Folk festival and found he wasn't playing as he was ill.

I like Satanics and wish they could have toured with it.... their most admired albums by fans always had a strong supporting tour. Don't think we had a 'Dirty Work' tour.....

Booked a trip to London + hotel and then cut Keith his finger .... or did he fall of a ladder?
Being in a plane to New York and reading in the newspaper that Mick had problems with his throat! Luckily they played anyway!
The Nijmegen Bigger Bang concert in 2008. Keith was not Keith!
(Not Stones related: Being in London and reading that Terry Hall has throat problems and one concert is cancelled. Luckily they can play "our" concert!)

Disappointments:

Before the era of CDs & the Internet - shelling out big bucks for Stones bootlegs...only to take it home
to listen to it and realize that it sounded like shit ("Have You Seen Keef?"...is the one that comes to mind - i think)

Mick's voice on '78 Saturday Night Live appearance.

Couldn't see any TATTOO YOU TOUR shows.

LET'S WORK

Poor seats for Voodoo Lounge show.

Mick's recent lyrics.

Number of songs on setlists decreases as ticket prices increase.

IORR............but I like it!

The way the cancellations 2006 was handeled, fans got wrong information, it took a long time until the money was restored. A big disappointment was the horrible guitarplaying in 2007.Another thing is that most post 81 songs are ignored by the Stones.

The short cancellation notice for the Atlantic city show 2006. Woke up in the hotel from my pre-concert nap at 5pm to the breaking News. Mick needed to rest is voice for the Shine a light filming two nights later. Still burns my ASS

One issue considered bothersome is if they schedule a concert in your city on a week day or on a Sunday Night. The last several tours they have played here (FL) on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights. Why is this important? The comish likes to be at the concert early and chat, buy tickets, etc... The next day can prove brutal.

maybe I should have sued, bit late now as he's dead, I can still remember at the time I was standing in his shop (he was a barber) with my friend pleading with him, all his customers thought is was great fun. Looking back I'm sure now if he'd have known how inportant a concert it was in history he may have agread and even come with me.

1. My dad pulling the plug out of the radio in 1969 when I was taping the Hyde Park concert (i said f*k you though in 1970, and went to see them the first time)
2. Had tickets for Rotterdam 1982 and heard 2 days before that my company booked me a ticket for Indonesia to join a project,on the concert date
3. Its Only Rock n Roll (somewhat), Black and Blue (a lot), Bigger Bang (is getting on my nerves with the exception of 1, perhaps 2 numbers)
4. Keith as a zombie at the start of Happy, Nijmegen 2007 (a shocker)

The troubles with Decca -ending with no live albums from '70-'75 (which I consider their best live period with the exception of '69)

The first one was Goat's Head Soup.

The second one was Ronnie Wood replacing Mick Taylor.

The third one was the repetitious setlists featuring all the warhorses in the Licks and BB tours.

That's it.
