Isn't it Mick on harp? At least, according to timeisonourside.com...

Highly unlikely. Brian was the Stones harp player early on. Was way ahead of Mick on that. Mick became very good on it.... but this was later

Er, Mick played harp on their first album already. Listen to Little By Little after Keith's solo ("my turn...").

DandelionPowderman ----

I am pretty sure it is Brian on harp. It would be nice to have the definitive word

Could be, but all the credits point Mick's way, including the sources this thread is based on.

The Little Walter version after hearing it again is really hard to beat! The Stones did a pretty damn fine rendition of it though and I stand by my post above.

Why does someone have to bring up Mick Taylor in every thread?? Ozziestone NO I would not want to hear Taylor on the original it is perfect on its own. The early Stones in some ways were the best Stones!

It sounds like Mick on harp to me.

I've always thought of "Confessin' The Blues" as a near perfect Stones recording. Jagger IS playing harmonica.

Much as I admire Mick Taylor...he is not needed on this.

Have Mick or Keith ever mentioned who was the original inspiration for their cover? Since Chuck Berry was high on their playlist perhaps it was his performance of the song that inspired them.
