QuoteJimmer QuoteBig Al A quote from a Los Angels Times interview from 2022: Damon Albarn: ‘ Not to say that I didn’t absolutely love the Rolling Stones in their heyday — they were magnificent. But do other stuff in your life. Singing (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction when you’re pushing 80? Come on.' So,look, he does appreciate the Stones’ greatness. I’m sure he’s a fan and admirer of the

It's actually a bit more complex than just lossy or losless. Depends on the exact encoder which is used (Fraunhofer MP3 or Lame MP3 makes a big difference, also AAC is a step up), the bitrate and other factors.

QuoteBig Al There will undoubtedly be some of their fans from the 60’s who think it silly that they’re still belting-out hits from yesteryear; from their youth that is long gone. From my experience those are usually the people who got fat and grumpy with age and are jealous that Mick is still wiggling his ass at 80.

Guys, this is an album recorded in 2023 and Mick wanted it to sound like it was recorded and mixed in 2023. If you want an album to sound like 2023 then having it a bit brickwalled and compressed is part of its sonic identity. Its another thing if an old recording gets remastered and compressed some decades after it was recorded but this album was meant to sound like that. If you like it or n

I've never waited more than 20 minutes picking up LD's. Then you did not have lucky dips for Munchen, lol. Thought the same, lol. Glad I got in shortly before the Stones came on stage. Friends of me missed half of the show

I want a setlist that pisses off all the setlist whiners here whose biggest hobby during a tour is to complain about the setlist on iorr. Must look something like this: Start Me Up You Got Me Rockin' Sad Sad Sad Tumbling Dice Streets Of Love Angry Honky Tonk Women Infamy Losing My Touch Warhorses

It's always fascinating to me how one little moment like that can have an impact that changes the world. Yes, the butterfly effect comes to mind. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if Mick and Keith met today, would they be able to have such an impact on the music industry again? Would they play pop music right next to Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran? Or could their magic only work at th

Having said that it is a beautiful song but the lack of Charlie does a lot. Already over Me and SOL couldve been written by Gram Parsons and Marvin Gaye, larger than life ballads. As soon as Mess It Up and Live By The Sword kick in you k

The thing is, Keith has adapted his playing to his condition quite well. He is quite aware of his limitations and what he can still do and knows where he can still shine.

Actually he finds his way with anyone he performs with, the crap written on here about Keith is so false and disrespectful, ie his disability, it's nonsense, he was far better than Ronnie on the last tour, do posters actually watch Ke

The whole Exile album (the first times I listened to it, then it became my favourite) Dancing With Mr. D Midnight Rambler When the whip comes down / Respectable / Lies (to me that was all the same song and a sign for a decline in their creativity, now I enjoy it) She's so cold (loving is exaggerated, but I have to admit it can be quite fun) And as a band - The Rolling Stones (I used t

Oh No, Not You Again is not polished, not overly organized, probably not very much worked on or thought about. It feels rather spontaneous and quickly done. That approach works well for

QuoteVoodooLounge13 I will say it again.............for me, HD is missing something. I can't pinpoint it but it is very definitely underwhelming me. Granted I am very ecstatic to have a new album, and love WWW and LBTS - the 2 standouts - but the rest are really good to meh. I've been asking myself this very question of late, and for me, I have to go with ABB, which I played to death

What's far more difficult IMHO is the question "Bridges to Babylon vs Hackney Diamonds". I'd go for Hackney here at the moment, but surely some time needs to pass before you definitely can say how they compare

To me the difference in quality between the two albums is so extreme that the question "A Bigger Bang vs Hackney Diamonds" feels like "Undercover vs Exile". I won't even bother discussing this...

Quotejahisnotdead Perhaps the Jordan vs. Watts approach deserves its own thread. It's an interesting subject. From what I see, on the album credits Don Was is credited with producing the drums on Live By The Sword. So, if everything else was re-recorded, isn't it by definition Keith Richards following Charlie Watts instead of the inverse? Unless there's some studio trickery involve

Quotesundevil That was awesome. This really shows the rolling stones need to stay small from this point forward. Thanks to social media, 4K camera and Dolby Atmos sound, they can now turn your living room into a small club. Hampton Roads was a pay-per-view, future club shows could be as well. They were super prepared for this show and it's great how fulfilling it is. With Charlie gone, now i
