I wouldn't mind an album of the leftover tracks and some more songs in 2024, but more important to me would be a Blue & Lonesome II.

QuoteDandelionPowderman There are minor chords, too Just a reminder, Gimme Shelter has only three chords. Does that matter? I have the audacity to answer myself: No! Yes, there are more than 3 chords over all, I know, so I wrote "essentially 3 chords". The main point is that the A, A7, D repetition makes the track boring. Gimme Shelter has over all 4 Chords by the way, I guess, an

The best track of the album and a candidate für Blue & Lonesome II. The Stones are dedicated to their founding document. In principle, the song has the quality of Prodigal Son, but the slick production bothers and disturbs me. Pop producers should not be allowed on the blues. Nevertheless 9/10.

This is not my thing at all. The worst track from the whole album. Apart from the cheesy lyrics, another negative point is that essentially 3 chords are tortured over 7 minutes. I find this unimaginative and boring. The song comes across as if it was tailored to the needs of the Bible Belt. Okay, MJ sings about the gods and says goodbye to monotheism (small mistake, the marketing people weren

Quoteamg077 QuoteStonesfan62 Thanks to everyone who has submitted their top 5 Stones albums and top 20 Stones songs please keep them coming. There have been a lot of songs I don't really care for which have received a lot of votes and likewise songs I absolutely love have received hardly any votes. Would any songs on Hackney Diamonds make your top 20??? AT least not for me. A top 50 probab

Quotematxil QuoteWitness Myself I don't know at all what to think about this album. It probably will be rather long before I know. I read some posts, but abstain from others that disturb my own experience too much in my humble approach to it. All the same, there is one idea I read about that puzzles me. It is the suggested point of view that this is rather much a pop album. Myself I have

QuoteDoxa Hmm.. there is not even week since the release of a new Stones album, and people are already talking about the next album. Anybody already started THE counting? "5 days and counting..." (RIP Hairball). But, in general, what the hell we know about the songs we have not heard. The experience shows that there'd been songs that weren't fitting or suitable for the alb

QuoteBig Al Quotekeefriffhards QuoteGasLightStreet Quotekeefriffhards I'd say the biggest hits were in the 60s Keith was the major contributer in those days, then arguably their best album Exile On Main Street is mostly Keith. So I'd say Keith was king when it was a phenomenon. I don't think Mick could barely play guitar in the 60s. Fortunately what you think is wrong.

QuotePhil Good For sure Ronnie loves playing live. And that's fine. What I don't understand is why he permanently is supporting Miss May. She has a less than mediocre voice and she simply can't really sing. Just my 2 cts It is difficult to determine that someone can sing. There is a certain singer of a British rock and blues band who turns 80 today. Can he sing?

And they did play well against Canada. Actually it had been better if they had played in Riga where they won Sweden. And when the whole country went nuts. - Doxa In Germany, it is essentiall

At the time they sounded great with some help from Ollie and Billy. Ronnie and Keith were on top, only Mick was in his screaming, shouting and barking years, sometimes he overdid it a bit, especially in 75, during 76 he sounded better again. The LA concerts are my fav ones, though.

There is a band that has no original member and continues: Lynyrd Skynyrd. Remarkable is that the characteristic sound is the same over the years. After ten seconds you recognize them as Lynyrd Skynyrd. They managed to endure as band without losing their identity. But this is also the problem for the Rolling Stones. Can they preserve their identity when Keith and/or Mick are no longer on board? M
