Jack FM is in several Canadian cities. The format is similar to what you described, playing what we want. In Vancouver it's 96.9 JACK FM. I think they've found a huge market because their music style is so diverse. Other stations are either "classic rock" which is excellent but sometimes you want to hear a song that's less than 10 years old or "new rock" whi

I agree about Green Day. Always wondered why they sound British when BJ sings! Also, since Madonna has been spending lots of time in London, reports say she's now talking with a slight British accent. Peter Noone also always sang with an accent, especially on a song like Mrs. Brown... How about Mick's accent on songs like Country Honk, Far Away Eyes and Bob Wills!

I actually just saw online that Toronto was chosen as the city. Like The Police, the Spice Girls will start their world tour in Vancouver.

Whenever Keith talked about the Art of Weaving, I always think of the intro to It's All Over Now. His and Brian's guitars mesh together so great. The Olympia 65 concert demonstrates this.

Also, as has been mentioned here previously, the building Mick is standing in front of while waiting for Keith is the same building as the cover of Physical Graffiti.

The show is in Vancouver. Not sure if it's a one off show or they're touring together.

I saw the ad in the Province and I was thinking of going myself. Pretty good lineup, although I believe there was some small printing in the ad saying acts subject to change or something to that effect.

Hi GeorgeV. I was at the Vancouver show, too. I remember he started out with an Eddie Cochran song but I'm not sure what it's called. I also remember that during one song he stopped playing to sign an autograph for a fan. My seat was pretty close to the stage, within the first 10 rows.

From Bill's Rolling With The Stones book page 338 "I added something to Honky Tonk Women, but it was more or less complete when I arrived. I played the country kind of influence on the rock licks between the verses". Mick Taylor 1979

Great song. I remember reading a review for it when it came out and the reviewer said something to the effect of Izzy released a better Keith Richards song than Keith did.

They were recently in Vancouver. They are still fairly popular in Canada and always seem to play a local show here on a regular basis. I believe drummer Darryl Sweet passed away a few years ago. They recorded their "SNAZ" live album in Vancouver in the early 80's and have a song called Vancouver Shakedown which I believe is about their equipment being stolen here in the late 70&

Yes, a very underrated band. Unfortunately I never got to see them live. When I heard Lonesome Dave passed away, I put on Third Time Lucky which I think is their best song,as a tribute. They also do awesome cover versions of Maybelline and Sweet Home Chicago. I highly recommend their greatest hits album to anyone that wants to hear some great boogie/rock music.

Hi Happyjack, The Oldman symphony version doesn't play the same riff as the song but once the violins kick in around 20 seconds in, they're playing the vocal part, although alot slower than the Stones version.

I never really could figure out how this sounded like The Last Time until someone posted the ALO Orchestra version here a couple years ago and then I realized that the Verve basically just put lyrics over the music. If someone took the music to Satisfaction and then wrote new lyrics, that person wouldn't be able to claim any songwriting credits. I still can't believe the Stones credit

Animals Greatest Hits is one of those must have CD's (in my opinion)! They mention the Stones in the song Story of Bo Diddley and on the live CD, Eric says "I'm gonna take me helmet? off and shake me head like the Rolling Stones" at the beginning of Almost Grown. Alan Price's, and later Dave Rowberry's, keyboards were a big part of the Animals sound.

I believe the first vid is from the NME awards show. Second clip is from the movie Blow Up. Would have been great to see the band during that brief period when both Beck and Page were guitarists. I think Christopher Guest was inspired by the clip of Beck smashing his guitar for the scene in Spinal Tap when his character of Nigel Tufnel smashes his guitar and walks off stage at the base in Seatt

I think that when the Stones are on the B stage, Bernard and Blondie are probably still singing and playing guitar on the main stage. The guitar on Under My Thumb kind of ends abruptly towards the end of the song and I thought that was a bit strange so I wondered if it was Blondie playing it. I mentioned here that when I saw them in Vancouver, I was surprised at how much guitar Blondie actually

AC/DC are the fifth biggest selling band in the US according to RIAA. Not sure where they would fit in world wide, probably still way up there. I'm a huge AC/DC fan and I always find it ironic that everyone says Powerage is their favorite album, yet I believe it's the poorest seller of the Bon era!

An awesome version. I believe Charlie mentions the song to Mick first and then Mick starts playing it. After watching it a few times, I'm wondering now how spontaneous it actually was. The fact that there were several cameras filming from all angles, the whole thing makes me wonder if they knew the Stones were going to break out into a song as opposed to they just happen to catch them at

3805. Re: KISS
Hi LA FORUM. I remember laughing that KISS have two songs, Domino and Little Caesar, that are also pizza chains! Hopefully they'll write a song called Papa John and Pizza Hut!! When KISS tour Germany, they had to change their logo so instead of the lightning bolt look, the two S's look like backwards Z's.

I'm a big fan of 70's KISS. They were a marketing machine back then. KISS dolls, toys, Marvel comics, posters, etc. No band except for maybe the Beatles would be albe to release solo albums by all the band members at once. I was kept updated of the band via my younger brother, who's a huge KISS fan so I know about the lineup changes in the 80's and their albums. Saw the Psyc

Hi Helter, Futureshop is a Canadian Electronics chain that was actually bought out by BestBuy, although there are now Best Buys in Canada, too. Futureshop was the only outlet that sold 4 Flicks when it came out and it appears they and Best Buy will be the only retailers for the Biggest Bang.

Of course, the NHL playoffs were huge in Canada, although from what I heard, many Leafs fans in Ontario didn't watch or wanted Ottawa to lose. Even though I live in Canada, I was cheering for Anaheim. I'm sure alot more locals on the West Coast have been to Anaheim than Ottawa to go to Disneyland. Congratulations to Teemu Selanne who played great in the playoffs and finally wins a St
