Quotepaulywaul I'm completely unsure what to think about it all, talk about "mixed emotions". Part of me thinks it's good that they're still gonna "roll for evermore", part of me thinks that "somehow" it's all wrong. I really don't know. Anyone else suffering from mixed emotions ? I can't be the only one ? I'm feeling exactly t

QuoteJadedFaded But now that he is gone, I don’t know if I could enjoy myself at a concert. How will I shout and sing and dance knowing that Charlie isn’t there? I agree. I can't picture how they could possibly memorialize Charlie. There's not one Stones song that comes to mind as an appropriate opener or tribute---their catalog to me never expresses genuine grief---and so many songs

QuoteMisterDDDD "Chicago health officials say Lollapalooza was not a superspreader event, with 203 coronavirus cases linked to the four-day music festival and no hospitalizations or deaths. Attendees were required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test." Wow! This is great (somewhat surprising) news.

QuoteWoz Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but the Las Vegas show is now requiring masks worn for the entire concert, regardless of vaccination status. There's a new message shown when you look at tickets on Ticketmaster. This is the only show of the tour that is requiring masks for all. It's a requirement throughout Las Vegas. IE it applies to the casinos too I have tentat

QuoteAquamarine Personally--speaking as someone with absolutely zero inside knowledge--I think Mick, Keith, and Ronnie, at least, do it for themselves. Just like Bob Dylan. None of them has to do it, they already have more money than God, they're way up in years, and have every excuse not to do it--but they do. It's not just what they do, it's what they are. Yeah, I think the

QuoteGasLightStreet Keith slaughtered the entire intro of Gimme Shelter in New Orleans. As I recall all but one of the musicians went off the understanding of the beat of... Charlie... because of Ronnie. It was the only screwup of the night that I can recall. I don't understand. Ronnie lead Keith into the mistake?

I'm really saddened to see this. Charlie, in my eyes, has always been the coolest Stone, and everyone else is the band has spent decades trying to keep up with him. ;-) I imagine he truly wants them to continue, knows that time is against them but additional glory is within reach after a few compromises such as a temporary replacement. And yes, the contracts might be forcing their hand

I don't think you're overreacting. The announcement was surprising to me. As someone who's vaccinated, I'm willing to risk it. Surely the Stones themselves will have extra precautions. But I wonder about the crew. If one crew member tests positive for COVID-19, what happens?

Yup, NYC would be a fantastic end to the tour. But only one person was claiming Madison Square Garden was on the schedule, right? Where's potus when we need him? He was always adamant that every US tour included MSG. I'd love for him to be correct for once...

I'm a very casual fan, so it's funny: I'd love a warhorse setlist from Van Morrison (or Neil Young, for that matter) and a more daring/contemporary/deep-cuts setlist from the Stones. I'm not the ideal audience member here!

QuoteHairball Vegas = terribly overpriced. Agreed. How do the promoters think this gig will be more successful than Vegas '16, when ticket prices plummeted and folks with night 1 tickets could exchange for night 2?

Quotevibrolux What's weird is that they haven't taken down yesterday's presale that was supposed to be over at 10AM local time. I suspect they'll do it very soon and set up the waiting room and the every-popular 2000+ queue. I (perhaps) foolishly refreshed one computer and got put into the waiting room. On another I'm still in, waiting to get booted...

Thanks JB! I've taken buses a lot in LA, and it's been much better than locals have told me, but I'm not sure about public transit after the gig. And as a bicyclist, perhaps renting one could work! I have tons of street smarts but don't want to lack options.

I'll probably need to ask this closer to showtime, but what options are there for folks who do not have a car and will be staying in LA? I saw someone post that Uber/Lyft is impossible to find after shows. Any private shuttle or public transit options for concerts?

I just spent several weeks in New York. It's inundated by drunk college students. I took the subway at night deep in the boroughs to meet friends, and it's no different from when I lived in dicey neighborhoods. Keep an eye out, be a little tough, and you'll be fine. It's a great city. Whoever posted that garbage is a fool.

I had tickets to Bob Dylan's 2002 return to Newport Folk Festival and David Bowie supporting his album "Heathen" about an hour away. Chose Dylan and would have caught the last half of Bowie's set if he went after Moby. I believe it was a double headlining tour, and they alternated slots. Managed to see Bowie twice on his following tour, but that's it. Still glad I m

With all the variants that develop, we might need a periodical booster. I worry the variants will prevent arena/stadium shows for a long time. I'm also worried I won't even see a concert in a theater this year. I hope I'm wrong. I appreciate the optimism here. And I apologize for venting negative feelings---I'd love to attend concerts by pretty much anybody at this point.
