BB and VL not so great, but Bridges to Babylon - now that's a class act. A 21st C classic, maybe the only one. That and Blue & Lonesome. As for "great songwriters who are gonna find out the hard way that’s all they are" - I'd say that's enough to start with. Let's see hoe it finishes! Maybe Chanel H's voice and Ben Waters' piano grind a little more p

Chain of Fools is great, nice solo too - Ronnie sounds and looks fab, it's enough to make you misty eyed, and it's great news that Ben Waters has also been recording with the band, he can really whack it.

I was once on the grounds of the remote Devon farm owned by Dave Brock, guitarist and founder of the mighty Hawkwind, and I remember going for a walk through the grounds with Dave, and him pointing out Denny Laine's old car, which he had abandoned there, far from any road, when he stayed there sometime in the 80s, I guess after bailing out of Wings. There was also a caravan still out there i

BV is right, it's a whole heap of spam, as well as tedious and terrible in quality, offensively so, revealing nothing about creativity, and everything about degraded hackery that happens to be machine generated. And a waste of time for people clicking on the thread for the new album....

"Great review, thanks for sharing! I just finished listening this new set. Wow, just wow!" Thanks Cristiano, and I'll raise that wow, just wow by a few notches - amazing listen, especially disc 2, I span later last night...,.

I've been spinning Bridges a lot in the past year, esp after that outtakes dump; some excellent songs and performances on it. Recently had Always suffering on replay .... a really nice country ballad

These pointless lists go to show how far the quality of the magazine, and the culture, has sunk... Adele above Willie Nelson - you wanna smack in the mouth for that? LOL. Let's have a list of most stupid lists...

I love the bootleg version from that 50/60-song drop with Keith on vocals and the guy on violin. It goes so well with the guitars.

He was incredible last night, and they were one guitarist down, which seemed to concentrate the forces .... Reviewed it for the Arts Desk and I can only imagine what it will be like to see this show at the 900-seater New Oxford Theatre near the end of the UK tour! Almost all the set is new songs and the biggest responses were always to the new songs. Which is quite something....

I've been playing this album quite a bit in the past year. Friend gave it me years ago, saying it wasn't really a Stones album.... I actually love the whole sound and feel of Might as Well Get Juiced - hard to understand why it is so often dismissed. Too Tight was much better sung by Keith, in that tranche of outtakes, with the violinist, and different - totally different - lyrics

Quotelem motlow Zelinsky is a fraud and a puppet, if you read the pandora papers that becomes clear. But we carry on, if we stay the course a win is at hand just like they told us in Vietnam. Asking for a peace treaty and making a deal for the resources or at least trying to get the puppets wife to see reason seems well, reasonable to me. I've never read such moronic rubbish. Apart from

Quotecalipachangero So every artist that doesn't agree on your opinion has fallen? This kind of attitude is part of the problem when it comes to "endure" and understand or at least accept other persons point of view. No, but this time it is about reality, not opinion. Waters' opinion is very far from reality. Sometimes a line gets crossed and you can no longer accept as vali

Quotelem motlow Roger Waters isn’t always right, but he is very well informed. He is not at all well informed, and neither is he right. Anybody well-informed would never have written that letter.

I never heard or read Roger sticking it up for a brutal dictator. That is just a false narrativ you're putting out there. He should play Moscow, and write a drone of approval for his preferred leader, Vladimir Putin. That 'open 'letter' to addressed to Zelensky's wife about why Ukraine should roll over and die and that the whole war is Washington's fault - he deserves shelling for that, to be honest. Even worse, he actually quotes his own lyric at the top of the letter. Tells you everything

The use of generic music rather than Stones music is bizarre, given the BBC has rights to use any music for no fee. Perhaps that's because of the international distribution angle. Other broadcasters would have to pay a huge sum, maybe. Unless they got a waiver, as it's essentially a band promo x 4. There was not a lot of new info, band-wise - though there was in Ronnie and Charlie

Some of the bitter, repetitive, sour-faced moaning, crowing and level of oersonal insult directed at Ron and Keith on this thread absolutely proves what Mike Tyson had to say about people on social media - "It made y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it." To quote Mark E Smith, You don't deserve rock n roll.
