Yes

Brighter and a lot more audio space. You can clearly hear Waters’ chunky bass lines in Sheep, much clearer than the original.

Gilmore’s guitar is high in the mix, heard some licks I’ve never heard before.

And this is my favorite Pink Floyd album.

The vocals over all are crisper, not muddy at all. To the point that it’ll make you wonder is it’s a different vocal take used in the 2018 mix.

The barking in Dogs sounds like it’s behind you, if you listen in headphones.

The bleating sheep and pigs grunting are almost too clear.

…there are a few drawbacks too.

The keyboard swells in Dogs lacks the bite.

And the Gilmore guitar solo after the line ‘at heart everyone’s a killer!’lacks the force of the original.

the shoot 'em dead, brainbell jangler!

Very interesting. Its in my favorites of theirs (honestly, most albums tie at the top for me) so I'll definitely be curious to take a listen! Thanks for the notes.

K, just listened to Dogs and you were absolutely spot on with all of your assessments, especially those drawbacks. Cracked up at the "everyone's a killer" cause your comment was so true.

But this sound is definitely an improvement, well done Pink. Waters' bass is so awesomely pronounced on Pigs Three Different Ones.

I thought Gilmour plays bass on Pigs...

This song is absolutely brilliant if you are a Floyd fan. If the Gilmour guitar solos are not included (we know why!), the song is bang average at best. Looks like Roger got it wrong again just like his support for Voldemort!

The version Roger plays is dreadful.

He has ruined one of their last great songs.

This was EPIC live!
Opening the show with it, made a bold statement.
I hope they release a full concert video from this tour.

Pink Floyd recently released 18 live performances from 1972. All contain Dark Side of the Moon and most have a handful of other songs. These non-Dark Side tracks are rarely less than 10 minutes long, Echoes surpasses 30 minutes on a couple of occasions. Just bought London February 18, 1972 from iTunes.

When the files were bought on Qobuz then you can download them also in 44.1kHz/16bit CD-Quality.

Batch converting of the sample rate should work on Apple Mac with the free X Lossless Decoder which can also burn the files to CD.

For Windows there're a lot of free tools, simply search after: free batch sample rate converter.

It's also possible to batch convert files directly in iTunes - [Support.Apple.com] . Burning CDs in iTunes (Windows) - [Support.Apple.com] . Burning CDs with the Music-App on Mac - [Support.Apple.com] .

OT: The Gilmours Are Fed Up with Roger Waters

Well, we knew they werent friends but I think this is a new low for the relationship. Dave's wife certainly not at a loss for words.

Well, David Gilmour and Roger Waters still hate each other. Gilmour’s wife, the author Polly Samson, took to Twitter to denounce Waters as a “misogynistic, antisemitic Putin apologist” (amongst several other things), and Gilmour shared the claims as “demonstrably true.

“Sadly @rogerwaters you are antisemitic to your rotten core,” Samson tweeted. “Also a Putin apologist and a lying, thieving, hypocritical, tax-avoiding, lip-synching,misogynistic, sick-with-envy, megalomaniac. Enough of your nonsense.” Soon after, Gilmore quoted his wife’s tweet, adding, “Every word demonstrably true.”

Background seems to be an interview with Roger Waters by German newspaper [Berliner-Zeitung.de] on 3-Feb-2023 (paywalled). The interview can also be found on [RogerWaters.com] .

"lip-synching" - at last, it's out in the open !

Not mentioned above but that attack is in fact a reaction to a recent interview by Waters where (among other crackpot theories) he said that PF releasing that charity single for Ukraine was "sad, very sad".
