Chain of Fools is great, nice solo too - Ronnie sounds and looks fab, it's enough to make you misty eyed, and it's great news that Ben Waters has also been recording with the band, he can really whack it.

I had the great pleasure of being at the Ivy Club in London on Thursday for Ronnie’s performance. Ronnie was happy, healthy, dancing and having fun playing to several dozen for charity at the swanky club.

Usually a quartet of rotating members playing a loose set list. Ronnie, Chanel, Ben Waters, Tom Waters (22?yr old son on sax, awesome) Imelda May, stand up base and drums rotating in and out and sharing in vocals. Audience shout outs including Led Zep were accommodated, a set list sheet was on stage and somewhat followed. (Chanel’s sheet signed and given to Matt Lee).

Ronnie took 2 short breaks but played for two and a half hours. During a break while the band continued, Ronnie danced away with a preteen who needed an energized dance partner, eventually picked up a guitar and rejoined the band in the middle of a tune. Singing: Ben W on boogie woogie tunes, Chanel 3 Tina tunes, Ronnie often though primarily Imelda. No Stones songs.

Ronnie justifiably seemed tired when he left the club at close to midnight. He was more than gracious after the show accommodating guest requests for signatures, photos…Ronnie had several family members attending including Sally who was also a gracious hostess for the evening. Sally took the mic to introduce the charity. Once Sally aided my wife into a picture joking that she also knows how it feels to be the left out spouse.

My review seems to be more about what surrounded the music but the night was full of just awesome live music-rock and roll and fun boogie woogie-by great musicians.

What I believe I learned speaking to those I expect are in the know, could just be rumor, but both statements came in conversation with multiple people:

The album is completed.

We are waiting for Mick’s foot (sometimes ankle stated) to heal for the tour to begin. A minor standard health issue. Tour put on standby but now can it and start over with a fall tour, September, expected.

Simply The Best

Hopefully they take Chanel Haynes with them on tour (in case they tour). her surprising guest appearance in Milano revived GS so much!

Since she was recording the new album with them, I remain optimistic she’ll replace Sasha.

Wonderful stuff, thanks to all for the pics/vids/reviews etc ......

I vaguely seem to recall that Imelda May was one of the artists listed to perform at the Jeff Beck tribute 22/23 May at he RAH. Really hoping that if she's there, Ronnie will be there, and if Ronnie's there, Mick might also be .......... ? It's not as if these people don't have a connection with Beck, although I've no idea if Imelda herself ever shared the spotlight with him ....

We shall see !

No harm in wishing, we all need a wishlist once in awhile !

I was guessing Ronnie’s idea of sober and mine might be different. Turns out he was much more absolute about not drinking than me. He klinked (probst) my beer with a soda. Ronnie wouldn’t sign a champagne bottle being auctioned. He was sober and healthy. And having fun with friends, family and fans.

It's wasn't the drinks that harmed Ronnie it was the cigarettes, no harm at this stage if Ronnie enjoys a Vodka & Coke , and i doubt he's drinking anyway, it's none if our business is it, he's 75 and he's Rocking.

Agree to disagree on that. Yes, the cigs hurt his lungs, drinking most likely hurt his relationships and possibly work too.
That's why he went to rehab several many times over the years. I'm pretty sure he's content with abstinence
from alcohol these days.
