The bonus tracks all sound pretty great to me and it will be cool to have an '82 show with "Chantilly Lace". This will be only the 2nd Super Deluxe I've bought, the first being 'Sticky Fingers' which was mainly for the Leeds '71.

QuoteWitness Quotefloodonthepage YES YES YES! LA #2 destroys LA #1!!!!!!!! Only reading: Instead of one setlist "destroying" the other, for me I rather like the variation as such that there is in the setlists. That variation must have increased the pleasure further for those that have gone to both concerts. It certainly would have done so for me. No doubt, but I for one would have

Interesting that Guitar Player is picking up on this now, as Mayall made his announcement about this in September. And yeah I agree, more of a semi-retirement. Although I guess staying in California isn't touring, per se, but rather playing local shows. 87, wow! I met him in 1996 after a show. He signed my CD Sleeve for Disc 1 of Clapton's "Crossroads" Box Set, which featur

I just now finally read the Sam Cutler article on Charlie that was posted a couple pages back. I guess I'm processing through things rather slowly. What a great tribute. I really wish I could have met Charlie to thank him in person. I work with a guy who did much of the video work on the Licks tour, and as such he spent a year and a half on the road with Charlie. He has told me some fu

Quotetreaclefingers B2B was of it's time...maybe a bit behind. A handful of good songs on a forgettable album. The neutered lion on the cover is completely ironic.

Quote24FPS It's dated. Voodoo Lounge is a retread for the most part, harkening back to past glory. Bridges had some hope, but it hasn't aged well. Every studio album after Steel Wheels (excluding Blue & Lonesome) sounds like a weaker version of what went before. A handful of good singles since '94, and that's about it. Agreed entirely. Blue and Lonesome is terrific, b

Some other collaborations between Chris and Mick are on the album 'Chris Jagger's Atcha' (1994)....I think Mick is on two tracks. Also, the 'Knights of the Blues Table' compilation album (1997), I think they are on one song together.

Thanks BV! Looking forward to Mpls. In recent years I've tried not to look at setlists leading up to the shows I see, but I don't think I'll be able to avoid looking at St. Louis reviews. Keep on rollin'....

QuoteDGA35 I wish ticketmaster would still print regular tickets, even the ability to print out the ticket like in recent years. All my tickets over the years I've scanned and saved to a couple hard drives. Not sure what they do for people with no phones. When I bought the Killers and Elton tickets, there was no option for getting the tickets any other way. TM still prints regular ticke

Maybe there's a better thread for this, but in the last week I've seen two shows in which the artist "teased" a Stones song going into one of their own. Last Thursday, Sheryl Crow (in her opening set for Chris Stapleton) teased "Heartbreaker" before going into "There Goes The Neighborhood", and then last night at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago,

QuoteHairball Sounds like dozens of other generic latter day rock bands...rehashing the past...not too bad though, and better than some others. My thought as well. As soon as I heard it I thought this is one of those bands that actually sounds like an opener. Good enough to sit through if you're there, but a band that also allows you to get to the show a little later if need be.

Is it time? On August 24th, my first feeling was.....yes. As I worked through thoughts and feelings, I came to finally realize that it isn't about me or what Keith said years ago. It's about them now and how they feel and whatever was said between the four of them before Charlie passed. I know that the show I see this fall (if the dates don't get further postponed or outri

I was ready to go ahead with this tour, under the understanding that it was temporary. Now that it isn't, it changes things for me. I don't know what I'll do. Things are raw right now. I really wish I knew what Charlie's true wishes were....and not some PR machine wish. Maybe it wasn't PR but really was Charlie's wish for this tour to go on. I imagine at some

The only Super Deluxe that I've bought so far is Sticky Fingers, largely for the Leeds show. I think I'll spring for the Tattoo You Super Deluxe as well, largely for Wembley show and having an official show with "Chantilly Lace". QuoteTravelinMan I can’t believe they mixed out the iconic siren guitar to start the song! When it comes in later there’s no context! Exactly. That was my first thought, that I miss that guitar in the beginning.

Quotedennycranium The band doesn't owe us ANYTHING. If Charlie, at 80 years old, wants to sit out a few shows? Please, Charlie, take care of yourself. Steve Jordan is a great drummer. He has a shorthand with Keith as well. SJ reveres the band, the songs and the opportunity. The Rolling Stones get to decide what to call the band. We, as concert goers get to decide whether or not we want to s
