There's a long version (something like 10 minutes?) floating around... They should release a deluxe album of ER, that would be the real deal IMO... a lot of cool things were recorded during these sessions.

They should release a boxset from the 1969 shows like Columbia/Sony did with Dylan's 1966 tour...

Quotethrak I'm reading comments about Steve Jordan playing in St. Louis. Some folks says he was awful, he didn't nail Charlie's style. For sake, Steve Jordan is not Charlie Watts and no matter what he is not gonna play the same way. I have huge respect for Steve for his work and decision to play with Stones. It's probably the best and the worst job in music busissines at the

None of these CD versions managed to reproduce the original sound on vinyl. The bass thump present on the vinyl is almost gone on the CD. I'd say the closest version is the one the 2011 SACD (but still not quite there).

QuoteGasLightStreet Ludwig has done the entire Stones catalog up through FLASHPOINT. His Virgin reissues are and apparently will remain the best sounding remasters of the 1971-1991 catalog. Actually he has done the whole Stones catalog as he also did the 2002 remasters for the 60's albums. If you get the 90's Virgin remasters (from Sticky Fingers to Flashpoint) and the 2002 ABKCO

Quoteironbelly Quotekowalski The Virgin remasters are probably the best choice if you want to listen to the Stones on CD. Bob Ludwig has managed to keep the original analog sound with a slight bump in the low end for the digital age listeners. At the same time they can sound rather "processed", like the ABKCO 2002 remasters of the 60's catalog. But still a very nicely done work.

If you're after a clearer sound get an original Japanese pressing of the record. The Japanese SHMCD with the flat transfer from the original tapes sounds great too. Bob Ludwig remaster from the 90's adds some punch. A lot of options actually... IORR, what a great album. Mick Taylor shines on it. And the band plays very tight. Always been one of my favorite.

Maybe you should try the latest reissue on vinyl. A totally different listening experience from the CD. It makes some tracks shine again.

QuoteGasLightStreet The mastering, or lack of, is what makes ABB such a difficult LP to really dig into. The production on it is fine it seems. Some of the tunes, like Let Me Down Slow and Biggest Mistake, even though they're clearly dynamic, are just as slammed as the rockers. Shit mastering. Totally agree with this. The CD is barely listenable. The latest reissue on vinyl ("ha

Love them. Amazing playing and musicianship. And some amazing songs as well. The currently ongoing reissue series (with the Bob Clearmountain remixes) is highly recommended. The Academy Music album is from the same concerts as Rock of Ages but remixed and with a longer song list. This new version is among my favorite reissues of classic albums (along with the Goats Head Soup reissue).

QuoteMassimo68 Quoteshadooby So, if from Italian seller it's not the real deal? Call me stupid but those graphs look identical to me, there should be a huge difference in dynamic range between 320 and 160. Maybe they were mastered at different (lower or higher) levels as most cd's are Graph are identicals because the source is the same : 128 kbps mp3. You can convert the files
