Quotemaumau The comparison between stones and u2 is good on the megalithic turn they took as live set and mammoth tour makers Musically I think that Unforgettable, Joshua and Rattle (think of Hallulujah here she comes - bside of desire for instance) have some resemblance in the approach to american music tradition that fuelled the stones at their top (68, 69 etc). The collision on Silver &a

Speaking of Charlie Sexton, wonder what he is up to these days? Seen him about 10 years ago in a club in Atlanta, great show although he wouldn't play his biggest hit "Beat So Lonely" for some reason. Mike

QuoteTommy Cosmo Zal Cleminson was one of the most inovative guitar players whe had in seventies. he later joined Nazareth! Tommy You are so right Tommy, great call on Zal. I seen them open for Jethro Tull in Macon, Georgia back in the mid 70's and Zal put on an incredible show for sure with all his stage antics. I have always liked SAHB, one of the bands that never got the recognition i

A definite must buy, no doubt about it. I look forward to hearing his version of Michael Been & The Call's song - Let The Day Begin. They have to be one of the most, if not the most underrated band ever. If a person hasn't ever heard this band, they owe it to themselves to give them a listen. Mike

Haven't bought a cd in the past couple months but the next one I buy will be Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers by Lucero. Great sounding band, may remind some people of Wilco / Uncle Tupelo. Great song on there called On My Way Back Home. Mike

I would hope that Stone Relics will decide to come back as his insightful information was always worth reading. That being said, it is his choice and no one can make him come back. I do hope that he reads this thread and when he does he will see that the positive energy of the majority of these posts are overwhelmingly in favor of his coming back. Mike

Wow, what a great, great lineup of covers. Especially those by Social Distortion, Mighty Lemon Drops, Jason & The Scorchers, Buffalo Tom and Steve Earle. All of these artists are favorites of mine. Ellen Foley would have to be included with Stupid Girl. I will also add that Frankie Miller does a fabulous version of Dead Flowers. And I will admit that I do like the Linda Ronstadt version of Tu

QuoteCindyC QuoteChris Fountain Although she is genuinely upset. LMP is a dollar short and a day late. I despise when people only show up for the funeral. I agree, but in this case you might be judging her too harshly. You can't help someone who does not want to be helped. Often times they drag you down with them. Give her some credit that she was able to do what was right and focus

Thanks for the song though at first listen it doesn't jump out much in my opinion. Speaking of Florida, we just moved to the Tampa / St.Pete / Clearwater area and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Lots of things to do around here and once we get really settled in I will do some exploring, lol. Mike

Quotetatters Gotta say I'm a little disappointed with that setlist. 18 of the 22 songs are on the live MSG CD. Why aren't they doing Sea Of Joy? Probably the best song on the Blind Faith album. And who needs an acoustic Layla? If you're gonna play it, then PLAY it! Imagine how much fun Eric could have had with a song like Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys. They should be doing that one

The Rolling Stones will always be the Rolling Stones to me when it comes to the band that I have enjoyed immensely for over 40 years and I am extremely pleased with their overall production both in the studio and live on stage to this point in their legendary careers. I am a fan, a long, long time fan of the band and haven't felt the need to criticize the band because they haven't done

Lol, this is the second time in the past few days that I have to agreed with the majority of what you said in your post Vudicus. That being said, some people just seem to have negative views of almost everything. Like it has been mentioned, if 100% of the people on here thought everything was fantastic on this board, it would tend to lead to uninteresting discussions from time to time. A goo
