Charlie and Bill are the motor behind the Stones. Key to their sound.
No Charlie or Bill, no Stones as i recall them soundwise.
You will hear it after they are gone.
In case of Bill's departure very obvious.
Same applies when Charlie would leave.
They are not the worlds best, but irreplacable Stones wise.
This is my humble opinion, and y'all may disagree.
But for me Bill's Forum: Tell Me
Just read the book in one go.
Fascinating read.
But we will never know how much is fiction and what is real.
If half of this is true it's allready a bloody shame.
But it pictures Brian as the originator of the band together with Stu.
For me this is by far the best book about Brian and the start of the band.
Pity Brian and Bill are photoshopped out of the band and it's memory. Forum: Tell Me
Aaaaaah, the good old days.
Now no decent record stores exist.
The ones left are carrying the same top 40 shit.
I miss the aimless bin browsing until you find your priceless trophy.
So much for history, bittorrent does not provide the same thrill. Forum: Tell Me
"TWo decades of creating the legacy, three decades celebrating the legacy, and finally 4 concerts to cash in on the legay... That's the 50 years of The Rolling Stones as it is.
Ä slight modification of the great line from Stonesnow Forum: Tell Me
One ok rehearsal doesn't make a great concert.
This naysayer still hopes he is wrong (fan from 1965) but hasn't seen any reason not to doubt (certainly for a pricetag of 375 pounds)
Sorry guys, but my benchmarks are 1973, 1970
Virtual_Nobody Forum: Tell Me
OK guys
Listened to this song for 10+ times
It still does not give me goosebumps, like Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Women gave me when I first heard them.
The spark is not there anymore.
I will pass on this and the Doom & Gloom tour Forum: Tell Me
Nice song, real stomper, but ............
This is no Charlie on drums and this is not a Stones song
Sorry guys, not for me
And yes yes, similar to ZZ Top, (thanks Mr Riffhard1) Forum: Tell Me

..and here we go....the silly season has now really kicked into overdrive.
Just play the bloody music. Enough of silly gimmicks and pyrotechnics.
Just play the music and do a sincere hommage to Brian without the holograms. Forum: Tell Me
So the word is almost out.
They will do 4 gigs 2 in the Uk and 2 in The States.
Just make an official announcement and be done with it.
Don't tease us to death with these boring appz.
Where is the time that the Stones where all about good music and shied away from all this technical bs.
And i might be old but still very involved in IT, but this marketing is an insult to music lovers (at Forum: Tell Me
I'm too old for this shit.
Bring out a new album (even with old rehashed numbers) or do a tour in any kind of form.
But don't bother me with this kind of boring teasers.
It might work for the new kind of music generation but not for me.
It only pisses me off even more.

NBC/Universal(film) has nothing to do with Universal Music.
The Universal film company was sold to NBC around 2003/2004.
So don't expect anything out of a name similarity. Forum: Tell Me
Most of these recording were made by putting a microphone in the mailbox of the stones recording truck. Some recordings were made secretly inside the truck. Others were made from the outside because it was to dangerous to put the mike in the mailslot.
