Quotekeefriffhard4life QuoteKoen Who plays in Deep Purple these days? paice, gillan, glover, morse, don airey. so 3 guys who were there at the bands height of fame, morse who has been there over 20 years and airey who played with blackmore in rainbow in the 70's. just as legit as deep purple for me as the lineup that did the album BURN Interestingly enough, when Deep Purple was concei

As per usual one man's treasure is another man's junk. I love the album and still listen to it. Standouts for me are Saint of Me and Out of Control. Anybody Seen My Baby has grown on me and You Don't Have to Mean it is a fun summer song. Flip the Switch and Too Tight are fun rockers and Already Over Me is great. The tour was fantastic and I had VIP tickets so the memories are great

Quotemosthigh Footage from Canadian documentary 'Rock-A-Bye' (1973) Cool footage! Another factoid was that you couldn't get Jack Daniels in Montreal at the time so the promoter of the show, Donald K Donald had to drive across the border to Plattsburgh New York and buy a case and smuggle it across the border.

I have all of those mentioned so far but my favourite is still Journey Through America with the Rolling Stones by Robert Greenfield which chronicles the '72 tour. Great book.

Quotedcba Quotestanlove I grew up in Rochester n.y. I know probably 40 people who saw them in Buffalo or Syracuse that year ( me being one of them ) and not one of them didn't say that both shows sucked. What you fail to grasp is if you saw one of the very 1st shows of the tour you didn't see the 1981 tour, you saw the "1978 tour part two". What do I mean? The 1981 found

Quotehockenheim95 Quotekeefmick I will be shocked if they don't play more shows with Exhibitionism coming to the U.S. in November. My guess is they will announce the dates of Exhibitionism and the dates of the shows at the same time. Hopefully soon. For Exhibitionism in London they didn't even play one show... That was because they couldn't get the permits to play publicly outs

It's weird that this just seems to be coming out in the press now. I have played this on my radio show a few times, the last time probably a year ago. It's actually pretty cool.

The hall where the convention took place paid their public performance licensing fees so there is nothing legally stopping them from playing Stones music.

Quotewith sssoul Thanks for the correction about RS Ltd, jlowe, but still: Their job was not directing a company; their job was the heated pursuit of a music career as it led them to uncharted heights, and it kept them mighty busy. It's only with hindsight that you can say things like "they should've had British advisors too". They had a business manager. They were payin

I was at the Montreal Folk Festival this weekend (excellent event and highly recommended) and at one point while they were changing bands on the main stage they were playing Exile over the PA. I couldn't get over how great it was hearing that album played loud. It was an unexpected but nice surprise and more than one person I noticed was shimmying and shaking to the tunes!

My dad is a huge Merle Haggard fan and has played country music since he was 15. I grew up with that stuff bus as I hit my teen years I discovered rock and roll and left that behind as I made my own way in life. Funny thing is that as I got older I started listening to the guys he loved, people like Merle, George Jones and Waylon Jennings and enjoyed connecting to it again. Just over a year ago m

While I am sure money is a big part of it, I refuse to believe that Keith Richards does any of this but for the love of music. Its his life.

Always loved that song. Keith has claimed on numerous occasions that Oldham @#$%& up the mix and that it was much more powerful.

I have started to delve into all this Rat Pack music as well as jazz and vintage lounge and a lot of it is quite cool. A lot of fun and a nice break from my usual rock and roll fix.
