Fun visit by Belgian reporter to early haunts of Mick 'n Keith and co in Dartford and beyond. It's in French but pretty easy to follow. And gives a fair idea of how dreary Dartford was (and is, sorry Dartford). He doesn't bother trekking to Platform 2 but stands outside the station and a nearby pub. (The best bit is when he stands in the road doing his commentary and is narrowl

Never mind how Keith felt, I bet the back up team were mortified and panicking. In fact, it was a rather charming interlude, as well as giving us a different version of WH. I thought Mick sounded very laid-back as he took the opportunity to remember it was the 60th anniversary of his meeting with Keith. I wonder if he was thinking about all the times Keith has kept him waiting since then!

QuoteTheflyingDutchman I'll just stay behind the old complaining sour Bill Wyman. I don't think the wording of the plaque has been changed. I've got a photo from 2018 when it remained the same. What do Dartford care about Brian Jones?

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Damn. I was hoping this thread would celebrate the Stones, what they have done and have meant to us, rather than rehashing the wording of the plaque. I first heard Around And Around and was dancing in my little sock feet before I was 5, and it felt so wild and joyful, but music wasn’t a big part of my life. Then I was dragged to see At The Max and had that same feeling of

QuoteBlueranger QuoteCaptainCorella It's shocking that here, of all places, the myth of Jagger/Richards setting up the Rolling Stones is allowed to carry on. Brian Jones founded the group. For non-native-english speakers the word "foundation" means "the action of establishing an institution or organization"... and that's what Brian did. That is utterly and

I don't think we can begrudge Mick a few moments off stage each show to get refurbished for the second half.

Quotebv Mick did mention the date last night at the LA-2 show, stating it was 60 years to the date since he met Keith at the Dartford train station. That's nice to know. I saw from various social media quite a few of Mick and Keith's children were in for the show. I hope they all had a little celebration. 60 years friendship is phenomenal, in a band, almost unheard of.

Quotegeorgie48 ... and that would have been the case, one way or the other ... Lady Jayne, means you don't see the total picture. Oldham (who was sort of a publicity assistant to Beatles manager Epstein) was made aware of the existance of the Rollin' Stones, the London based Blues cover band. Without Brian's passion there would not have been a band named the Rollin' Stones.

QuoteIrix Quite a lot of stomping about in separate carriages on the journey but, yes, a remarkable partnership. I never get the fuss about Brian Jones starting the band. The Glimmer Twins are the axis on which the band we know rests and always has done, the song-writing team, and that would have been the case, one way or the other, once they re-met. Frankly, I have always thought Andrew

I'm quite enjoying the beanie parade. It's a better look than the bodged hair dye in the 90's. I suspect if he is very bald on top, there is a bad scar from the brain surgery which is more visible. Also makes sense to keep warm.

Loving Mick's pink bomber jacket - very LA! Rocks Off and Get off my cloud - good to see in list. Can't wait for the videos.

As Mick told Howard Stern 'The big difference, though, is, and sort of slightly seriously, is that the Rolling Stones is a big concert band in other decades and other areas when the Beatles never even did an arena tour, or Madison Square Garden with a decent sound system,' Jagger said. 'They broke up before that business started, the touring business for real.' He noted

Quotefranzk You gotta give credit to Steve Jordan for this. It was the right decision to go on tour with him. Sure, we all love Charlie and we will miss Charlie. He got the swing and he got the groove. But when you watch the shows from 2017-19 he slowed them down. Now they got the kick and fresh energy. With Steve I feel that Mick and Keith can tour well into their 80s. I really hate comments l

I enjoyed reading this interview. Quite funny to picture his flat as a treasure trove of Beatle memorabilia unfit to receive a visit from Keith! Have to say I somewhat agree with those who take the PR releases about Charlie's involvement in 'inviting' him with a pinch of salt, but, at the end of the day, someone has to do the job given the rest of the band have decided to continu

QuoteMariuana QuoteBeast There is no one like Mick Jagger and I doubt there ever will be again. He never ceases to amaze. When I was at school and sent off to attend church every Sunday, I used to spend the entire service gawping at my bookmark, which was a newspaper photo I had of Mick wearing a red military jacket. I can picture it still. All these decades later, if in my sleep I dream o

The question I am asking myself is which dive bar in Pittsburgh is Sir Mick visiting tonight to partake of his pre-show beverage? Will Instagram shots of Mick 'man of the people' Jagger thwarting public recognition in photogenic locations be a feature of this tour? I certainly hope so.
