Quoteslewan reminds me of the encore paradoxon. People going to shows expect encores and feel pis*ed off if there aren't any. The same people are happy if an artist does 14 songs andcome back twice to play 5 encore songs. But if they get a 22 song setlist with no encores they feel betrayed – although they got three songs more than at the other show with 14+5 songs beside that: Playing f

I've seen shows that for the first 45 minutes or so were fascinating, then the next hour starts to feel like more of the same and gets kinda boring, so I see his point somewhat.

QuoteGlam Descendant Chalamet dug deep last night -- Bob himself has never performed "Three Angels" in concert: That was very interesting. Didn't know if he was going to do it as Dylan or put his own spin on it, was the latter which was pretty cool

QuoteMelBelli QuoteRockman Someone should make a movie about that period. THAT would be truly fascinating. Bob railing against KISS! I'm fascinated by that period of his. Some of the music was very good, some not so much, but fascinating period. I might be one of the few who bought the "super super" deluxe version of Trouble No more which included an extra concert CD, which qu

Quotebv Quotekovach Yet they just did 20 shows in North America. Maybe they thought that was a half dozen too many. That 2024 tour in USA & Canada was originally planned for 14 shows in 2023. Then they pulled out just a couple of days before announcement day. I assume the cost of the booked venues, promotion work, all costs involved ina last minute change, added up a large cost, picked up

Quotedmay An interesting director and story maker. The first I ever encountered his work was "Eraserhead", one of the oddest, strangest movie I ever watched. I Had to put it on last night, hadn't seen it since I was a teenager watching it at a theater. It scared the dog and I got some odd looks from my wife and her friend who walked in midway through.

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotetreaclefingers QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteTheflyingDutchman Do those people overthere have an insurance against this kind of inferno ? In some ways, no. Not everyone. Quite a few. It seems, though, that the ones that do have insurance it won't matter. More fires to happen soon. It could possibly be the end of Los Angeles for quite a while. Beyond the immediate

QuoteLeonidP Quoterollmops Cherry oh Baby has a minimalist feel to it probably pleasing to Keith. Their root reaggae musical approach on that song has always worked for me. I know some people don't like that interpretation but I believe the Stones took their inspiration and delivered that reaggae away from a more commcercially acceptable version like EC " I shot the Sheriff". And I

One of my favorite bands, seen them maybe 15 times, I thought they were better than ZZ Top in the tour they did together a few years ago (and I've seen ZZ maybe 6 times). Still sound great and put on a great show. Though take ear plugs, still one of the loudest bands out there.

QuoteDGA35 Quotetreaclefingers QuoteDGA35 Was a big fan during Budokan/Dream Police era. Don't like the fact that Bun E Carlos is no longer with them. Was actually supposed to see them on May 1 opening for ZZ Top in Abbotsford near Vancouver. I almost got tickets for that show too. Seen ZZ before and wasn't impressed but would have liked to see Cheap Trick. They were cheap, I beli

Last time I saw them, Bun E. Carlos got up and was walking around behind the drumset every few songs, clearly hurting. And I didn't know this before the tour, but they kept the show to 75 minutes because of his back trouble. Was kind of weird, was a great show, then over and not even 10:00 PM yet, everyone's kind of like...what do we do now?? :-)

If ever in Montgomery Alabama, visit the Hank Williams museum, they have the car he died in there. Apparently it stayed in the family and his son even drove it through high school. And of course visit the grave site.
