Alternate version..never heard this before this afternoon. One of Woody's better solo tunes. Can it really be 51 years ago?

I really like the song "Big Bayou" on Ronnie and Rod's solo album.
I would love to hear them sing it together.
It will be interesting to see how they sing the part about the Gulf of Mexico.

That was on the flip of "I can feel the fire" .

Loved it , and was very pleased when the version turned up on the next album, Now Look.

RW was awesome with the Faces..dropped off technically with the Stones..maybe too drunk/too comfortable/less responsibility were the reasons.
His Faces efforts were top class

Lester Bangs said that when Ronnie joined the Stones he "took a civil service job." In other words, he didn't have to work as hard.

The Stones kept him on a short leash, and didn't really utilize the full extent of his talents as a composer and guitarist.

Financially, it undoubtably worked out better for him, but artistically it was a disaster.

If one can show me examples of technical drops offs or artistic disasters in RW's studio playing with the Stones, and live performances from 75 up to 82, I would be truly grateful, because I can't find any.

Wow, didn't know the history of this song, I'd never heard it until I bought "Slide On This" in '92 thinking it was a new song.

A lot of us would be happy to take up a collection and pay for Ronnie and Kenney's flight over if they'd pop in to Rod's "One Last Time" N. American tour. Raleigh, July 8th, if you please, lads!

I can't remember where I read this but I believe that breathe on me was originally recorded during the sessions for IGMOATD but the album was going to run long and so it got cut.

Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones have recorded 11 songs for a new Faces album, and there could be an official Faces documentary with "some rude bits" in the pipeline too

Also one interesting bit:

"I can’t see it coming out this year," the drummer admitted. "But I can see it coming out next year. Everyone’s doing different things. We do little snippets [of recording] here and there. Then all of a sudden, The Stones are out [on tour] again, Rod’s out again…"

Is this a leak about possible Stones tour this year?

It reads to me like he's generalising.

Kenney Jones on his ‘new’ Small Faces record: ‘It’s very sad. I can’t share it with my mates’

The ‘Cockney Herbert’ who drummed with the Faces and The Who will soon reunite with Rod Stewart. But first he has a ‘hated’ album to save

The Civil Service job quote by Bangs has haunted and stayed with me all of these years.

The civil service job comment is a rather polemical provocation. I cannot answer the question whether the Stones are had workers - Charlie Watts had his thoughts on that. What I can say is: Ronnie Wood got into the Stones, and the dynamic riff for Hey Negrita was there. Some Girls is a classic album by the Stones, as is Tattoo you. Ronnie Wood has had a huge impact on both albums. He set highlights on Emotional Rescue and Undervover. Dirty Work may be a weak album, yet Ronnie's playing belongs to the strong points of it. From 1989 onwards his contribution to the songwriting has decreased. He played extremely well on the SW/UJ tours. On Stripped and Stripped Companion we have great playing from Wood. The Brdidges to Babylon Album does not feature many contributions from him. The best one is the laughter during How can I stop. The solo on Gunface is.... The Bigger Bang Tour was a financial triumph and guitaristic disaster. Yet Ronnie Wood plays an important role in the discography and in the performances of the Stones. Of course he has had many lowpoints because of drugs and drinking. The Faces were a band that was meant to last for some years, not longer, so Ronnie Wood's move towards the Stones was logical.
