ET is a children's movie though. It is not supposed to be edgy or different. But I digress. I think it would be great for them to do it. Something fun and silly that brings people together for a good cause. Not that I think the rest of them will. Keith and Charlie don't speak computer. I couldn't see Charlie wanting to put himself out there like that-he'd probably just

yeah i feel like at times he just doesn't really try for some reason (maybe because of the frequency of their albums) but he's obviously very smart and if he really wanted to every song he's ever released could probably be genius...

Quotestupidguy2 Quotealieb Quotestupidguy2 The way he puts words together, phrases them..sings them, evokes emotions or displays sarcasm. This in particular I notice. Like the faux country bumpkin with a hint of british inflection... I don't think anyone else could sing the exact same way he does and be taken seriously. Not that I think he takes himself too seriously when he sings like t

Moves Like Jagger! (kidding) The Arctic Monkeys reference made me chuckle the first time I heard it... I think my favourite reference to them is the one in American Pie, but in terms of newer stuff Metric, "Gimme Sympathy" I can feel it in my bones Gimme sympathy After all of this is gone Who'd you rather be? The Beatles or the Rolling Stones? Oh, seriously You&#

I think (or at least I hope) that most would agree that all have had lyrical moments of genius, but when it comes to who one likes more it's more about one's musical taste.

Quotestonehearted Quotealieb the "taunt" comment was from Brstonesfan... just didn't quote him... my bad! No, you're good! In fact, everything's fine, and why shouldn't it be? We have the sun, the moon, and The Rolling Stones--that no band could take the place of. ahahah true that! i feel I always have to apologize because sometimes i get the feeling people take

QuoteDandelionPowderman Is Mick really underrated as a lyricist, and by who? Maybe it's just that he's not known mainly as a lyricist as say Dylan or Lennon, even though he's every bit as good I think. His stage persona because it is, if not the best, among the best, is the talent of his that gets the most attention. That's just my take though, maybe the people that wrote

Quotestonehearted <<I think AM was really the Arctic Monkey's Sgt. Pepper.>> That statement shows that no band has yet taken the place of the Beatles, if a Beatles album is still being name checked as the benchmark for accomplishment and greatness. To address the question put forth by the OP, it's all relative and depends on who you ask. There was a whole generation, f

QuoteAron I don't really mean "replace" because that's impossible, but do you think there are currently good rock bands that can dominate rock music for 15 years, like the Stones did in the 60s and 70s? I know that times have changed but still, there have to be good rock bands.. I think u2 has made some incredible albums and i really like them live (i know some people Fin

QuoteAquamarine How could you all identify which four they were supposed to be? I saw four young guys standing there and it took me a minute to realize they were supposed to be the Stones--none of the actors looked like any of them. I guessed the one we saw the most of was supposed to be Jagger, but really, any of the others could have been any member of the band. "Keith" had a horr

Quotevertigojoe There are no new bands anymore. Modern culture is too fragmented for any band to ever have the cultural impact that the Beatles or Stones had. Post WW2 end of empire. End of deference. Stones lit the touch paper. These circumstances will not be repeated for a long long time and if they do it will be in a very different way. And hasn't it all been done now? Exactly. I

Quotemtaylor He does what he is capable to do. Don't expect him to jump around being 70 I would qualify what he does as jumping around. I mean, maybe not the same way he did at 20 or 30 but he does run and skip across the stage/hop a lot which is more than I can say for anyone in their 70s that I know. It's pretty amazing how fit he is.

Quotemtaylor Quotealieb Quotemtaylor This one Cringeworthy performance too... he doesn't even hit the notes (which would be fine if it was a fast song but there is not much else to pay attention to in a song like this) not to mention the cheesy organ accompaniment Do you understand music discipline? Doesn't seem to be the case.... not sure what you mean by that? I am a traine

to be brief: no to not be brief: Back when the Stones got big, music was so much harder to come by and thus bands had to be pretty huge to be heard all over the world, thus the iconic generation defining acts. Then the internet happened, and now there are so many different fifteen minute of famers that I don't know if anyone will ever be quite so big and musically well-respected as the a

QuoteTooTough Different angle, longer and 2 more interviews with Keith and Mick at the end: What does it mean if Mick looks at the female interviewer like this: clearly he is sticking out his tongue to provide a visual reminder as to what band he is in (most likely because his head is blocking the poster)
