QuoteStonedRambler The reason why Bill and Mick Taylor aren't on there? Simple - because there're not part of the band anymore. It was their own choice. No, this stamp collection is being released to celebrate the bands 60 year career. Brian, Bill and Mick T made key contributions to that career and legacy. To not include either former members simply misrepresents history. Misrepresen

Quotewickerman Royal Albert Hall has got 5 free days in first week of December... Very unusual for the venue which is usually super busy with all sorts of events. Any idea if special Charlie memorial show(s) might be actually held there? I like to think it would be after Xmas if it is happening, they would have announced it already if it was in Dec.

Quotebye bye johnny From a post by ijwthstd on Shidoobee: "There is going to be a Charlie Watts tribute show in London show in December or early next year. The Rolling Stones will be there but it won't be exclusively a Stones gig." This sounds interesting - but I like to think we would have heard about it by now if it was in December

Looking forward to the book - shame BW and MT didn’t respond to you but excellent that you got the current lineup as it was earlier this year.

One of the newspapers mentioned at the time of Charlie’s death that there were plans afoot to celebrate Charlie’s life in the U.K. later this year. Any word on this?

If the Stones do some London gigs next year as a celebration of Charlie I don’t think they’ll be inviting Bill or Mick

Looks as if they will be pushing ahead with the tour. I do hope that they do something special for Charlie in London next year and then gracefully bow out.

Some wonderful tributes pouring in for Charlie, it really hits home how influential the Stones were to so many and what a key role Charlie played in that. I am absolutely floored by this loss.

Bill won’t be involved in any 60th anniversary shows - Jagger probably won’t ask him and he would probably say no anyway he is 86 next year

Cowboytoast, I like your thinking about the 60th anniversary next year but I guarantee you Taylor and Wyman will not be involved, not least because Bill will be cracking 86.

I really don’t think that Steve Jordan, as great a player as he is, has an appreciation of the Stones sound/how they operate as a band. I mean he thinks Darryl has contributed more musically thank Bill ever did…

Quotefloodonthepage QuoteMisterO Wow that is a huge blow. I really hope Charlie makes a full recovery. I still have some resentment for Steve Jordan over his disparaging remarks about Bill Wyman, but now Steve has some giant shoe's to fill. This is going to be interesting. What did Steve say about Bill? I missed that. I can try googling, I just wondered if you knew off the top of your

I like Steve Jordan’s playing but would rather them cancel. It will be interesting to see whether Steve Jordan thinks his contribution will be musically relevant, one for the ages - after all when an IORR member was making a documentary about Darryl 7 or so years ago and they interviewed Steve he went out of his way to downplay Bill’s musical relevance to the band. I thought it showed a lack of u

Drummers were Kofi Baker, Sonny Emory, Steve Gadd and interchanging between Henry Spinetti and Kenny Jones. It is Henry Spinetti doing the percussion element that you can see.

It was a great tribute to a phenomenal drummer and special to see Eric doing Cream and Blind Faith songs. I was fortunate to have seen Ginger live a few times. It will always remain my biggest musical regret that I wasn’t able to see Jack Bruce live - I had tickets to see him talk at the Bass Guitar show and he pulled out on Drs orders a week before. Sadly, he does not long after.
