As predicted: Overpriced T-shirts. Overpriced T-shirts with sh*tty designs.Again. I often wonder why Rolling Stones fans are forced to suffer this abuse. Most of us have been fans for fifty years or more. Haven't we given enough? :-)

The Copa album could be fun if it's a rationally priced single live LP culled from the show. Imagine: Side One; 1) IORR 2) You Got Me Rocking 3) Oh No Not You Again 4) Night Time Is the Right time 5) This Place Is Empty Side Two: 1) Miss You 2) Rough Justice 3) Get Off of My Cloud 4) HTW 5) Start Me Up

Likely some tax dodge Jagger had planned. What DIDN'T happen in 1975 was the South American dates that were supposed to follow the US run. Supposedly security and currency fluctuations were the reasoning but rumors at the time had it that the four dates were added to generate the necessary cash to cover the budget of Fordyce, AK for the next two decades. Again rumors at the time but what

I was there both nights. On opening night I had Lucky Dips way up on Ronnie's side where I could see the backstage area. About 9pm four luxury SUVs rolled up and a Stone got out of each one. They gathered together and marched up the backstage ramp, apparently got kitted up in the dark and were on stage in moments. No pre-show rituals, no nothing. Like Elton John. It surprised me because I th

Pared down to 10-11 songs (standard LP length) VL is as good as anything in the Stones canon, except the Jimmy Miller years.

Those were the days. Regular contributors included "Torn and Frayed" and girlfriend (whose name I've forgotten). I sold them some extra tickets I had for a Chicago show. They were newbie lawyer types out of Philly, if memory serves, They followed the Bridges to Babylon and No Security tours all over the country. When the tours ended they broke up.

Nicky Hopkins was on the '72 tour. Billy Preston was on '73-'76. Ian and Stu were in the dark, stage right on the '78 tour and in the same position but better lit in '81 and '82. I've long thought that both were employed so that Keith and Ronnie could follow their individual cohorts (Stu and Ian respectively) in the monitor mix.

I still have my Lucky Dips from 2020. IF, by ANY miracle whatsoever I am able to use them logic and time dictate it will be for my last ever Stones shows. I never need to see McCartney again. Hopefully the band/venue/promoter troika will ease off on the "dynamic pricing" they were employing in the year before covid. If not, I've seen everybody.

Who is going to buy all of this "vault" stuff? The primary market for Stones material is men in their sixties and seventies, perhaps some in their late fifties but a significant minority I'd imagine. Whatever is left is redundant for the most part. For example "Brussels Affair" is an exceptional recording exemplifying the '72-'73 period beautifully. Why put out

Ronnie can be considered a fair-to-middling first year illustration student, unlikely to sell any of his flat, paint-by-number, photo copy pictures were it not for his musical pedigree. That said, if he peddles a set-list to a show I attended I might make room for it.

The vaults aren't empty but they are redundant. The only thing missing is a DEE-LUXE, expanded THREE LP version of "Love You Live" wherein: Record one, sides A and B would be unchanged from the original. Record two, side C would consist of era correct live outtakes. For example; 1. Hey Negrita, 2. Let's Spend the Night Together, 3. Dead Flowers, 4. Wild Horses, 5. Rip Th

A friend of mine sat next to Charlie on a plane from Dallas to Michigan 9-10 years ago. Among the tid-bits my friend learned was that Charlie was extremely proud of his house, lawn and landscaping. He could frequently be found laboring in his yard in a well-to-do residential Dallas neighborhood. It was not unusual for wealthy white ladies to pull over and ask if they could hire him for their yard

If they are the real mixes/versions found on the originals I might buy the CDs. It's FUN to buy Rolling Stones records but I've run out of stuff I don't have.

QuoteMathijs I am not not a big Springsteen fan, but I find this album truly fantastic. Letter to You, Janey, Last Man Standing, If I was the Priest, Song for Orphans are standouts for me. I never liked this tough-guy-working-guy image and singing of him, but here is sounds older and vulnerable. Mathijs It helps that "Letter to You" was recorded in six days by a well rehearsed

These are the kind of CDs people give each other at Christmas as jokes. They're played once or twice and then put on the shelf never to be heard again.
