QuoteCrackinup QuoteDGA35 I recently read that Bruce's sister had a small part in Fast Times at Ridgemont High back in the early 80s. Don't think it was a speaking part. She had one line. I don't remember it exactly but it was something like: "It's such a put-down." Ahh, the cheerleader in the gym for the pep rally!

QuoteBosmatic1 I don’t think anyone’s injured. They worked hard to finish the album, Keith probably just wanted to relax some more down south before making any new plans. They’ve been busy touring and recording all last year and into this year. This is the first time it’s been so publicly admitted that they are relaxing and enjoying family time down at Como in Turks. Plus the Europe 60 tour had

QuoteJavadave Who’s in the band these days? I recall that they had Little Feat’s Bill Payne for a while, but he announced he was leaving them to focus his energies on Little Feat. Saw them at the Gorge around 2010 opening on a triple bill with The Allman Brothers and The Dead. A good day of music all around, with the ABB set exceptional. Current members on this tour are Tom Johnston, Pat

QuoteIrix Quote24FPS Have you heard Blu Ray Exile on a five speaker (actually six with the middle channel) surround sound? No. Just stereo (from SACD) via high-end headphones which have a wide (almost holographic) soundstage. Btw: the 2013 BluRay-Audio is also stereo only (2.0) as printed on the rear cover. Discussed 20 years ago, but the Sympathy For The Devil hybrid SACD single has a 5

Quotetreaclefingers Quotetreaclefingers QuoteDGA35 Hey Treacle, Doobies are playing Abbotsford on Oct 28, Amex presales start on Wednesday. I saw them there several years ago, decent show, not a huge fan, but if tickets are cheap, I might get them. Thx for the heads up DeeG, I might actually do it. I think I'm in the same fan range as you with this, but I just bought tix to Lionel Richie

Has SONY ever said what medium they consider to be better since they developed both SACD and bluray?

Quotebabyblue Have you heard version by Canada’s Streetheart? They are a awesome band still going. I've never cared for their version ever since it came out! Didn't know they were still around after Kenny Shields passed. I do like their song What Kind of Love is This. They opened for AC/DC in Van in July 1980, one of the first shows with Brian Johnson. Didn't go to the show,

First saw him 1988 at the PNE Coliseum. He did 2 shows then, probably the peak of his popularity with Lonesome Jubilee. My upcoming concerts now are Madonna, Rod Stewart, Pink and KISS. Still hoping Springsteen tick

Seen him twice there, first time was a bit better because he had Kenny Aronoff on drums, who was Mellencamp's drummer back in the 80s. Puts on a great show, all hits! He was in Rogers just

Quotemosthigh QuoteDGA35 Is Peter Gabriel popular enough to play large arenas? He is in places like Quebec City and Montreal. Last time he played Vancouver in 2002, it was reportedly far from full, and he hasn't been back until now. Classic rock radio has kept him in the loop, so he'll probably do ok, but maybe the dozen initial dates are testing the waters for other markets. Fo

Quotedownagain Just saw today that they are trying to crowdsource funding to get this thing released. You will be listed in the credits, with different titles, depending on how much you donate. I don't know what they need, and I know I'm being an idealist, but it would be cool if one or some of the big artists who benefitted from Nicky's fine playing, would pony up some dough to

I love how the trailer above has interviews of all these famous rock stars as well as Harry Shearer, the legendary Derek Smalls from Spinal Tap. Also does many voices on The Simpsons including Mr. Burns, Smithers and Ned Flanders! I've said before that I think Beck's Bolero is the first "supergroup". Beck and Jimmy Page on guitar, John Paul Jones on bass, Keith Moon on dr

Hey STG, been texting with my cousin in Scarborough. She's tired of shoveling! We got hit with snow here in BC but nothing near what you got! The Coquihalla highway was closed for over 24 hours because it was hit with about 2 1/2 feet of snow and they were doing avalanche control. The TV show Highway Thru Hell is filmed here in my hometown which shows tow trucks attending accidents.

Impossible to estimate a crowd at a free concert, like Rod's at the beach. I've always read Hyde Park 69 had a crowd of 250000, but here it's 500000! Also, they show Metallica in Moscow, but it was AC/DC that were the headlining act.
