Quotecrholmstrom QuoteTornAndFried Roger Fisher was a fantastic guitarist. What was the reason he left the band? Was it over songwriting royalties? Or did he just get tired of touring? Word is there was some Fleetwood Mac Rumors type stuff going on. They originally moved up to Van because Ann's boyfriend was a draft dodger. Not sure if he was one of the band?

Also Time Waits For No One wasn't released in Can/US. My sister in Vancouver bought me a copy in the early 80s when she went to Mexico on holidays.

Get well soon Ann! I think I've mentioned before that back when Heart was first starting out, they moved from Seattle to Vancouver. They started doing local gigs wherever and my older sister told me they played the high school dance in Hope in 73! She remembers then doing a number of Zeppelin tunes. Several years later, when they released Barracuda as a single, Nazareth was pissed off wit

Do deep sea container ships unload in North Van? I thought they unloaded on the other side of the inlet, yellow piles of sulphur notwithstanding! Not that im

Quotebabyblue QuoteBeastyBurdeny I hope so, will help make it sound less like a tin can in there That’s why I choose not to go this venue why pay all money for lousy sound. I think it depends on the band sound system. McCartney in 2012 and 2019 sounded decent and I sat in both lower and upper bowl. AC/DC 2015 was absolutely terrible, upper bowl was so echoey. Elton 2022 upper bowl sounded g

Congrats to Florida! I was getting so sick of all the comments in Canada about how we should all be cheering for the Oilers to bring the cup back to Canada. Even though I live near Vancouver, I'm not a Canucks fan but I don't think any die hard fan of another Canadian team would cheer for the Oilers. Similar to a Red Sox fan cheering for the Yankees or NY Giants fans cheering for the

QuotePaddy QuoteBosmatic1 According to BC place itself the actual record for capacity is by Ed Sheeran who beat previous record by U2, their roundtable stage allowed for greater audience capacity. See here: According to Chris May, general manager of B.C. Place, Sheeran drew 65,061 fans to the Vancouver venue, surpassing the record of 63,803 set by U2 in 2009. As far as tickets go the only

Just looking at ticketmaster, seems only tickets available are beside the stage, some pit and rear general admission. Rest are verified resale tickets. For any concert using the full stadium configuration you can seat aprox 45-50k. BC Place capacity was lowered when the stadium underwent the huge 500 billion dollar renovation right after the winter Olympics. Biggest recent crowd for the sta

Never been an Oilers fan! Guess from all their winning back in the 80s. Going for Florida. Good game tonight, Oilers put on lots of pressure but Bobrovsky played amazing. Not sure who the others on here that live around Vancouver are cheering for? Treacle? Babyblue? Paddy?

They did 2 shows in Vancouver at BC Place for Steel Wheels and 2 for Voodoo Lounge. All four were sold out. But by 98, they only did 1 show and it "only" drew 38k or so. Over saturation of the market.

Hall of fame NBA player Bill Walton passed away today from cancer. When I was real young I remember him winning a championship with the Portland Trailblazers. Reason I said semi ot is that he was a huge Stones fan. I met him in 1989 at BC Place in Vancouver, I heard he was following the band around. My friend and I both put out our hands to shake and his huge hand which was the size of a

QuoteSlick its in 4K from the original camera negative, it will blow away any other release and it most certainly wont be sped up, no pal conversion and it will play in any 4k player in the world. Nice! I played the DVD when it first came out and it was so sped up it was ridiculous. Haven't played it since. In 81 they already played the songs pretty fast but the DVD sped up was nuts. S

QuoteUrbanSteel Quotesnoopy2 that's one trippy litho! love them this tour, wish they would make one specifically for New Orleans/Jazz Fest You can print your own poster. Wow, didn't realize all the acts at the festival! I see the Beach Boys were one of the acts. Didn't Mike Love say before that the Stones were scared to play on the same stage as them?!

QuoteBeastyBurdeny I'd reckon he'll do a string of short residencies in major cities, like he has in the past. NYC, Chicago, LA, Toronto, and maybe Vancouver (he's never played her before but a guy can dream). Vegas sphere would be phenomenal. Apparently the sphere was built by a prophet, in premonition of this very album. It would be cool for Vancouver but where would he

QuoteJbeckerfan I'm aware that Oldham basically burned the band and locked them into self-serving deals. I am curious to know if the band ever reached a point of 'water under the bridge' with Oldham, and if there are any reports of Oldham ever attending any shows in the last 25 or so years. I am aware he lives in Bogota, and the Stones played there in 2016. Would Andrew have been
