The RRHOF has an American bent to is as well, but of course Wenner's favorite British artists get in. That being said, Roxy Music should have been in a LONG time ago. Their influence (if that's what they are going off of) was immense.

I know it's all about the money, but it would be nice if Memphis and New Orleans got shows just for the musical heritage aspect. They are always on fire in Memphis.

Such a fantastic duo. Second only to Otis Redding in the Stax revue - and that's saying a lot considering the talent. I never got to see Sam & Dave, but I have seen Sam Moore on a couple of occasions. He performed at the 70th Birthday Bash for B.B. King in Memphis back in 1995, (Which also included a pre-recorded video from Keith Richards) Then I saw him at the Rock and Roll Hall

Don McLean - American Pie He makes a lot of allusions throughout the song - some are more obvious than others. The "moss grows fat on a rolling stone" line could be about the magazine - but later he sings "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack Flash on a candle stick" - obviously a reference to "Jumpin' Jack Flash." The "Fire is the Devil's only fri

The latest status update on Sonny's Official Facebook page reads: "Hey folks, this was some guy's idea of a joke." I saw him in concert about three years ago and he seemed as happy as could be.

Quotejammingedward Memphis Pyramid. My first ever Stones show. Wow. That show was such a party! Love seeing the Stones in Memphis. It was so cool to hear "I Got the Blues" performed that night. Also great to hear "Some Girls" and "When the Whip Comes Down." Great setlist, great atmosphere.

Was at the Little Rock show on Nov. 11, 1994. I was 19 at the time. Couldn't believe they played my hometown. I saw Paul McCartney the previous year in Memphis. Both of those shows changed my life. Still remember them vividly.

Quotegeordiestone 94 was indeed a great year for music, personally i was glad to see the back of grunge and loved the whole Britpop scene as well as the Crowes and ofcourse the Stones. Happy memories. I agree with this in general. I was never a huge fan of the Seattle grunge scene (too much angst), but I did like a of other alternative bands at the time. R.E.M. was my favorite, but they had be

My first contemporary studio album and tour as well - the LIS video was all over MTV and VH1. This was the era of big-budget MTV videos and David Fincher and the Stones delivered. I think it is a fine, fine album. It does include one of Mick's last "go-to" live songs, "You Got Me Rocking." Mick's penchant for keeping current also resulted in a great remix by Pa

Do Flight of the Conchords count? I do like those guys a lot even though they are parody/comedy. At least they write and perform original songs. I think Neil Finn is one of the most gifted songwriters the world has ever produced. I just saw him in Toronto on his Dizzy Heights tour and he was amazing. He did a great selection of songs from across his career - 3 or 4 Split Enz songs, a handf

I've followed this site for years, love it and this is the first time I've ever posted aside from a review I posted last night of the Toronto show, but man, the negativity from supposed fans. I've seen every Stones tour since 1978, been a fan of theirs since they started, saw the Oshawa for the blind show, Super Bowl...last night

Well isn't this a bummer? I am going to be in Montreal from June 1 to June 9. My flight leaves on June 9 at 2:22pm. I called to see how much it would cost to change flights and it would be over $500. I love Montreal so much and the Bell Centre - saw Leonard Cohen there last year. Ugh. Oh well, I'll be at the show in Toronto on May 25.

My heart goes out to all of the victims and their families. Patton Oswalt summarized best how I and many other people feel about this situation: From the Huffington Post I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity." But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem -- one human insec

Two new shows in So Cal as well - May 18 in Anaheim and May 20 at the Staples Center.- 4 now in So Cal. I guess that brings the North American total to 16 (and 18 total shows including the two Hyde Park shows but not including Glastonbury)

You will find out your seat location when you pick them up the night of the show. Prince did something similar to this on his Musicology tour - when you bought your tickets you didn't know where you would be sitting until the night of the show. My pair happened to
