Quotethecitadel I understand that the Stones have decided to self-insure for recent tours. That would explain why in the US last year they carried on even when Keith and then Mick were clearly suffering from illnesses. It also explains why there are more, longer gaps, in touring schedule - the extra cost of keeping the whole touring team on the road is clearly assessed to be less than the cos

"A performer’s age has a material impact on what it costs to buy so-called “non-appearance” cover, a category of insurance that guarantees their fee if they can’t do a show due to illness or injury. The numbers are stark, according to insurance insiders. A young-ish DJ – a genre of musician usually cheap to insure as they don’t sing – might be charged 1.5 per cent of their promised fee by an

Generally interesting - but a very interesting Stones snippet: "One of the brokers even heard that the mighty Stones chose not to take out full non-appearance insurance on their most recent tour. “There was a market rumour that the last time they just opted not to go with insurance because it just didn’t make sense. And Jagger is a very financially astute man,” he says. A Stones spokesm

When I was a student, one of my professors had been at LSE with Mick in the early 60s. He offered for his band to play at her 21st birthday party, to which she apparently replied "I do not want you and your spotty little friends playing at my party, thank you!". syrel (this conversation was prompted by me wearing my "who the f*** is Mick Jagger?" Tshirt to class...)

QuoteJeter1984 The challeneges the Stones face setting up tours are quite extensive -Core members must be healthy -Guaranteed money paid up front -Insuarance sign off (including multiple doctors traveling with band) -14 to 20 shows with very specific rest time in between (this is the big one which is very hard in Europe) -Venue availability that coincides with above point -All of the abov

You're right, they band their shipping costs. Countries next Germany aren't too bad, but UK has always been very expensive (and was pre-brexit, so that's not the cause). syrel

Quotehockenheim95 Not all tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster though. Especially Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain will mostly be sold through the Eventim group. There you have the option for paper tickets and in Germany maybe even no option for mobile ones. Good point. Eventim's postage charges for outside Germany (and maybe Switzerland?) are astronomical though - 30-40 Eur

Quotefollowyoudown While I'm making plans to come over from Texas U.S.A. and spending more money than my salarty should allow, it just occured to me.Do the electronic tickets bought in the States and stored on my phone work effortlessly in Europe? I'm not a fan of electronic tickets as I had a very hard time ( and the ticket taker too) finding the tickets in New Orleans. Experiences? Th

Quoteschwonek OK. So I understand that the sound is not that good in the Arena. But I want to go so - I guess front of stage is same sound anywhere right? Or are there places within the Arena that are OK soundwise? Sound was fine in the pit in 2022. The stadium is pretty echo-y, but you don't really notice it at the front.

Quotephd27 QuoteAntoineParis I'm sure there will be a second show! Don’t believe it by now. Paris is empty end of July considering what is their current base. It would be hard for them to fill up the 80 000 audience at the Stade de France at that period. Only U2, Coldplay,Sheeran, Swift could do it. But I may be wrong. I believe in you Antoine

The strong rumour is 25th and 30th, but as I typed I wondered if there might be a 3rd show added "because of demand" on the 21st later. Assuming there is a week gap between Rome and Amsterdam, and between London and Berlin, they could certainly fit a show in on the 21st. syrel

Quotesteffialicia Can anyone offer some suggestions for hotels, possibly near tube line, in the Tottenham Arena area? Thanks! Premier Inn are a very reasonable chain, and depending on what dates the shows fall, can be good prices. The nearest one is Tottenham Hale, about 35 min walk from the stadium. Also look at their 'hubs' (ie very small rooms, but clean and ensuite) at Shoreditch

I was wondering if the opening show may be delayed until the 13th. That would give them time to put up a stage after the el classico on the 10th. That would have enabled 13/17/21/25...29 in Rome. But a date of the 13th does not enable a date of 20th for Lisbon, so who knows...

Barcelona’s Camp Nou return pushed back until May at the earliest: This might be behind a paywall, but the key part is: "Barca’s next scheduled home fixture would be against Real Madrid on May 10, a situation that has been complicated by the Rolling Stones having a scheduled gig at Montjuic on the same weekend as that scheduled fixture." EDIT: I should have read the complete

I find it hard to understand how anyone can view the Rolling Stones playing - or not playing - anywhere in 2025 as a let down. Take what you can get, people. This is a band that's older than almost 90% of every single person in the world (the *actual band*, not its members). If you care enough to be posting about it, travel to wherever they are playing. syrel
