Mick was at the test match at the Oval, London today for England v New Zealand. He loves Cricket, as I do too, the TV coverage picked him out in the crowd.

Three days in and it’s been pretty dull so far. FIFA have ruined the competition by increasing the number of teams to 48, you end up with too many poor games. Still as long as FIFA make money that’s all they care about. 48 teams is just too many.

Savant - I scored 15/16. The one I got wrong was the Aftermath question. I must confess to not having listened to that album for a very long time!

Imelda May at Birmingham Town Hall tonight. In my head I’m thinking that Ronnie may sit in on a couple of numbers, but in reality I know it’s unlikely. Still I can dream!

It’s a beautiful place and I can picture Charlie there. I thought it would cost a lot more than £2.75m though!

I saw it yesterday at the Max Cineworld at Resorts World, Birmingham. There was no more than a dozen people in the auditorium which was a shame. Really enjoyed the film though, the level of detail that IMAX filming brings was incredible, some of Mick’s jackets looked incredible. Well worth a trip down the M6 on a Sunday afternoon!

I’d love to have seen the original line up with Brian, any tour, anywhere. After that it’d be ‘72.

Keith loves the place and did say in an interview that he would never sell it, he’s owned it for almost 60 years and does play an active part in the local neighbourhood albeit from a distance. There are probably more Stones sights to see in London, all easily accessible via public transport.

A theatre in Chichester is showing a play about the Redlands bust. I know that it’s a long trip across the pond for many of the good people on here but it may be of interest to a few in southern England.

It’s getting a lot of radio play in the UK bur for me a great song is let down by a weak - if catchy - chorus.

It’s 6.45am in a very dark and wet Birmingham, England and I’m lying in my bed listening to Hackney Diamonds. It’s shed so much light on my morning, it’s so good to have the Stones back with excellent new material that sounds so good!

Quoteyorkshirestone QuoteScooby I’ve ordered a Rolling Stones/Paul Smith t-shirt which should be delivered this week. I’m hoping that it will be a good quality product, the last few items that I’ve ordered from the official store have been really poor quality and I sent them back. Think you’re getting a Paul Smith t shirt with stones printing rather than the other way round, his clothes are exc

None of these. I love the Stones and their music but I don’t need 29 versions of JJF. I won’t actually buy Hackney Diamonds but will stream it which is my preferred way of getting music these days.

Does Klein’s company still own the rights to recordings from back then? If there were any unreleased gems you can bet ABKCO would have released them a long time ago.

I was at the 4th July Wembley show and England were playing in the World Cup semi final in Turin at the same time. Mick kept us updated with the scores etc and I remember those in the private boxes had the match on the TV, you could see the green of the pitch on the TV screens from the Wembley pitch. I remember feeling so happy that I was seeing the band again, after the wilderness years of th
