Re parking at Symphony Hall, avoid parking at Arena Birmingham (the NIA), it can take a long time to get out after the event. The car park at Paradise Circus which is on Brindley Drive is better and cheaper. It’s a 5 minute walk across Centenary Square to the ICC and Symphony Hall.

The capacity isn’t huge, just over 2,200. It’s a wonderful venue though. I really must get tickets to see Ronnie in my home town!

If the Daily Mail reported that the Sky was blue I’d go outside and check it for myself. In other news, Mick is at the Oval test match today with his brother Chris.

I’m a huge cricket fan and that game was insane. It had everything and will go down in history as the best white ball game ever. I hope that Mick and Charlie watched it together. A game like that should be shared with others.

So thinking of the 2013 gigs, where was the 2013 stage in comparison to the 1969 stage? I may be wrong but I’m sure that the 2013 stage had the audience facing Park Lane, so assuming the Cockpit was the 1969 stage are they basically opposite?

Marvellous gesture. I will be at the Oval on Saturday and will hopefully bump into Mick! It will be the smallest crowd that I’ve ever seen him in!

QuoteKingmanBarstow We had to let our dog go cross the Rainbow Bridge last Wednesday. 14 years old and he succumbed to cancer. He was a lovely boy and a fighter to the end. He has supported my wife during her current cancer treatments, still ongoing. The chemo affects are really tough going for her. Our dog, always riding in the car with us to the hospital. No matter how bad he felt. But last we

Looking forward to the release and it’s pleasing to see that a percentage of the sales will go to charity, I believe the Willie Dixon Foundation. I’d personally like to see the charitable share spread on a more local basis. After all charity begins at home, I’m in England and the Stones are an English band. I respect the work of the Willie Dixon Foundation and it’s based at 2120 South Michig

Philip Norman’s book The Stones is an excellent read. It was originally published in the 1980s and was updated a few years ago.

I thought the reaction every band member received during the introductions was warm and highlighted the affection which we all hold for them. Keith for one received probably the largest cheer, the best reception that I’ve seen him get across many shows. Man did he milk it and good on him!

What a gig! I’m still buzzing the morning after! There were so many highlights but the best part for me was Like A Rolling Stone, it was delivered with such energy that you could feel the crowd growing with the band. One of my all time Stones highlights.

I don’t like it. The tongue doesn’t fit with the general theme. Some of the other tour lithos have been great, particularly Southampton & Edinburgh. This one doesn’t reflect well in comparison. I love the early 70’s Cardiff Castle lithograph and would prefer a modern take on that using the Principality rather than the castle.

I’m starting to get very excited again! I’m staying at the Campanile hotel in Cardiff. Can any local IORR’ers give me advice of the best way to get into the city centre from there? Taxi or maybe public transport? If anyone needs advice about Birmingham as a few seem to be travelling through my home town please do let me know.
