Quotedrewmaster Quotedrewmaster I can't wait!! I have a feeling Sweet Sounds of Heaven is going to be incredible. Angry was just a warm-up. This will be the real deal. Drew I wrote the words above on Tuesday, before the teaser snippets appeared. Occasionally, I get it right, and this time I did. SSOH is the real deal. The first time I heard it, it brought tears to my eyes. That fee

SSOH is so much more, better, than anything I dreamed of in a new Stones song. For me, this fantastic song is in a league of their best singles. SSOH would also have fit perfectly on their best LPs. Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord

Oh, I didn't know that. But as I see on Discogs, the promo EP is only available on CD. Since I prefer records (vinyl), but also have a lot of music in digital format (hard drive...ripped all my CDs and also bought many downloads), I can at least put this EP together digitally, since I bought 40 licks back then. It will certainly look good on Roon.

I remember that at the time I also had high, and possibly not entirely unjustified, hopes that many unreleased songs from the ABKCO would be released. Sigh...

Giles Martin working with Goats Head Soup was fantastic, this new version of Tattoo You is not in the same class. The new version of Tattoo You, however, brings no improvement on the german pressing from 1981. However, it doesn´t sound any worse, so my first impression. The bonus record sounds totally ok to my ears. I haven´t listened to wembley yet. Ok, i will only be able to make

There´s an hilarious quote from Charlie in the book: "With the bigger stages, the others all just moved further out, but Mick has always done what he does. It was just that the runways and the areas got bigger. But, essentially, it´s the same thing as being on that little stage in the Crawdaddy Club, where he used to wiggle his arse. It´s the same arse wiggling, except sometimes i neve

I really like the picture on the box....how is it called...lenticular, wobbly or shaky picture?...you already know, just like the picture on TSMR. Quotejbwelda "sounds fantastic" is completely subjective and easily dismissed as anecdotal evidence. Dynamic range measurements do not lie. Thats what I was interested in, objective measurements and an analysis thereof. thanks jb I really don’t like to have an dispute here. In my opinion the DR is an important hint, if an record is sounding good. There are many King Tubby and

Quotejbwelda So would it be fair to say that DR-wise, it sucks? All three, the original release, the bonus tracks, and the Brussels recording? And by "original download", you mean the original download when the official Brussels was first offered? And that came in 9s and 10s, with one 11, on Angie, which makes sense because it goes from very soft sounds to Jagger nearly screaming into t

QuoteJordyLicks96 The new mix of Goats Head Soup, while taking away it's original murkiness at times, provides a much more clear listening experience in accordance to the lead vocals and instruments. I noticed a lot less reverb in the 2020 mix as well. The bonus material is a real treat. While we already know about 'Scarlet' and 'Criss Cross', 'All The Rage' is

Quotepeoplewitheyes Alright, sounds like finally the Stones have gotten a reissue/box set almost right (and, rather ironically, on the understated Goat's Head Soup) - the instrumentals of Heartbreaker and (particularly) Dancin With Mr D sound fabulous. This is the kind of thing the Beach Boys, The Who and others have been doing for decades with their reisssues. Finally the Stones seemed
