In case you've ever wondered..here they are on the telly in the UK circa 1976. Maybe its me, but the adjective "excruciating" comes to mind...it appears the audience has been sedated to endure it..great quality footage though!

Always thought the Crowes were trying for something like this- an overlooked b-side that almost defines the ouvre..RIP Steve Marriott

From Facebook via Dave Emlens Kinks page- Ray onstage recently with the Kast Offs at an Ian Gibbons memorial get-together. ALthough Id read in Rolling Stone that Rays has some sort of degenerative muscle condition, I was still a little surprised how old and frail he is. Not sure how the Stones still do it but I think Ray and Daves collective infirmities will nix any live work at the very least.

Helluva guitar picker and if you can arrange it, the guy you want to play your funeral. Pulls out some supremely tasty lead guitar at the end (somehow)- not a dry eye in the house. I missed this at the time, maybe some of you did too...sniff..

He's actually smiling and obviously happy playing with these guys. I believe the "Coward of the County" CD is in this progressive jazz style and was very well recieved at the time. Ginger lacked humility and tact- among many other traits- but he's not far wrong when he says you cant compare him to Moon and Bonham. They were great rock players and absolutely essential pill

Good old surly Ginger Baker. I was never totally blown away by his Cream or Afrobeat stuff but when I checked into his jazz playing and even some of the old Graham Bond Organization, I finally got what the fuss was all about. Sophisticated and swinging with a suprisingly light touch- a master of the instrument. Like this....

Great "Exile"-ish track from 1971- maybe The Stones should have given Henry a shot.. Talk about a nasty tone!

Not what you would call a huge eddie money fan but this is an excellent live performance of a pretty sharp Top 40 tune- the band is tight and eddie nails it....circa 1977. Extra credit for spotting Aynseley Dunbar....

Things looked promising three years or so back when Ray started seriously talking up the reunion but Dave did an interview shortly thereafter making it clear he didn't want to work with Mick Avory. (Or any other members of previous Kinks lineups) That seemed to sour things.

Mick Avory in Goldmine Feb 2019- GM: There’s been talk through the year of a Kinks reunion with you, Ray and Dave. Will it ever happen? MA: Well, I said I would be open to doing it but it’s been up to Ray and Dave to agree on something and they didn’t so we never got there. As time goes on it’s looking more and more doubtful because everyone’s older and I’m the only one who’s really perfor

Late 60's/early 70's West Coast musical mainstay and uber-hippy. Looks like he switched from the trademark Hammond to piano around this time. "Fifth" is a great record.

Updated mind-boggle. I apologize for not reading with focus. I thought 35K bought a modicum of individual face time. I see the reality is acually "their time may be limited to 15-90 seconds with each group" Imagine being herded with a group of like-minded fanatics into a non-descript spartan backstage waiting area. In come the Stones. Now count to fifteen. Out go the Stones. Done

Issues of profligate personal spending, obsessive fanboy/fangirl fixation aside- wouldnt someone falling for this be at all concerned about looking like a total chump/sucker/fool in the eyes of their elderly idols- you know, like " I cant believe these idiots are actually paying us this kind of scratch for "Hey, how ya doin? Gotta run..." What a sweet racket!

Swinging bar band blues but Steve's guitar sound/tone and phrasing will bring a smile to the face of any Stones fan- no wonder Keith dug him..

wow- if theyd given 100% of the meet and greet loot to charity that would be one thing but this is pretty unseemly..pure greed. Drug dealers, CEO's and trust fund types- who else is gonna pay that kinda dough to hear "Hey man. Thanks for coming out...have a good time tonight"
